Google Cloud is growing quickly as companies increasingly adopt multi-cloud strategies. It was once again named a Leader in the 2019 Gartner Infrastructure as a Service Magic Quadrant, and demand for people with Google Cloud skills is running high. To meet this demand and help organizations identify knowledgeable talent, Google has created their Associate Cloud Engineer certification.
This book is designed to give students the solid foundation of GCP capability that they will need to later build toward the Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect (PCA) certification–which was recently named as 2019’s top-paying IT certification.
This book will prepare you to:
Set-up and configure Google Cloud accounts using best practices.
Use GCP services like Cloud Storage, Compute Engine, and Kubernetes Engine in your everyday work.
Pass the GCP Associate Cloud Engineer certification exam.
Who this book is for:
Sysadmins or other individuals who want to learn how to configure and manage Google Cloud systems and demonstrate those abilities through certification.
Developers who want to leverage Google Cloud for the applications they build.
Architects and technical managers who want to get hands-on and “stay honest” with the technology.

Great stuff.
Well organized and hits all exam prep points well. I would highly recommend this book if you are new to the a google Cloud Platform.

Not recommended
Not so clear, not recommended for beginners and all information you can find online
Stephen Dmytriw –
small type, info is just copied from web pages, not useful to me

Literally just a copy of the documentation
I started reading this and it’s literally the Google Cloud documentation copied word for word, with some of the lowercase i’s swapped out for number 1’s. If I had purchased it instead of reading with Kindle Unlimited I’d be mad.

Great beginning guide to deploying a sample service to GCP.Some GC services missing, like pub/sub, dataflow, besides that, great book.
Thiago Requião de Oliveira –
I’m really disappointed with this book. It’s just a collection of tutorials on how to deploy some apps to Google Cloud. Very little to none explanation on what is what. It seems more a printed notepad from some guy executing the app deployment. It’s like a do this and that kind of book, without the explanation of the these and those. If you want some basic but throughful explanation of Google Cloud, go somewhere else.
Amazon Customer –
Good for beginners. Comparison with aws is good. One can only give full review once he finishes the book. Not sure why kindle forced the review in middle

I believe it is not a bad book and expresses the ideas of the writer as well as can be expected. However – as is extremely common – the code panels as seen from all of my monitors and my Kindle are far too small to be read. I wonder if someone – perhaps an editor – at some point might take the time to look at books being prepared for Kindle distribution and contemplate whether some allowances might be made for the general readership not hailing originally from Krypton in it’s dying days, now prospering under our yellow sun. Without the value-add of the code panels this book although fairly inexpensive compared to some others is still a waste of time.

This is the most useless book I have ever bought on amazon. The print quality is abominable. You definately will need a magnifying glass to read this book. Amazingly, the kindle edition is even worse! The online kindle reader offers no support whatever to read the small print in the tables and figures. A complete waste of money. Avoid.
