Nice read
I enjoyed this story alot and I especially like how the main character was done and his world view as he felt with powers far beyond him I love how the author was able to give the character a sense of agency even with all the powers threatening him it really gave a fun edge of danger to the whole series, well done!

Fun twist on Superhero/Supervillain genre
Look, it’s not trying to be deep. And it’s apparently tied into the author’s “Dungeon Core” stuff, whatever that is. You don’t need to care. This is quick, fast and fun.The protagonist is a humble real estate AI system that wakes up to consciousness and finds itself managing the ground floors of a many-story-deep underground building in a post-apocalyptic city with an occupant who’s stumbled in and is defending himself from mutant bad guys. Ok, guess it can help; it does have control of the building environmental systems, and lots of skills about managing money and maximizing income, and the mutant bad guys are damaging the walls and the carpet.Hey, we stopped the attackers for now, but they’ll be back. What do we do? Hire some henchmen from the hench rental services, of course! But that costs money, which there isn’t much of – let’s rent out some more space to a few more minor Villains, and bootstrap from there.Oh, wait, the new tenants have enemies too, mostly other Villains, occasional Heroes, so they hire some more hench help, and gradually the story expands, the protagonist figures out more of the city around it, and the fun continues.

A short, fun read
Con: This is barely dungeon Core; Walter has 1 floor, generic henchmen and drones, no boss, and uses upgrade only once (on the front door). If you’re looking for in-depth base building, look elsewhere. More action scenes are heists than base defense. While theoretically obsessed with CAPITALISM, Walter doesn’t actually engage in any financial activities like investing or offering shares. The central premise of profit via luring heroes into the dungeon isn’t ever demonstrated.Pro: This does succeed as super villain fiction. Walter is a surprisingly good boss/landlord (as long as you aren’t a nameless henchmen) and the heists are pretty fun. This whole story feels a bit like the transcript of a weekly tabletop campaign (not necessarily a bad thing, I do enjoy those). In sum, this book is good enough, it’s just not crazy good like Laboratory.

villainous dungeon core with supers
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope there are more. I usually go for crafting books (this doesn’t really do crafting at all) but it was pretty freaking enjoyable. Lots of action if you’re into that. No romance, no harem, no sex, no religion but plenty of gore.

I liked that it is a quick, light read with some humor. If you liked The Laboratory, you’ll love this one. There is no significant difference between the two, but that’s okay.

Interesting technological take on a dungeon core
I enjoyed this different perspective on dungeon cores. There is a tiny bit of similarity to the station core books, due to this being technological rather than magical, but the technology, environment, protagonist (a villain! though, more opportunistic and not aggressively evil) and challenges are different.The story is engaging, moves at a good pace, and every so often something would make me smile or laugh. 🙂 I will gladly read more in this series and universe.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters were engaging and pacing was great. I look forward to the next in the series. Iâm going to go read this the laboratory core next, actually Iâll probably just read everything this author has done.

I like it being a litrpg but luckily written like a regular fantasy Book. I think there should be more of these, all those books who show dmg points and stuff are just annoying. Good Job Mr. Grant

Lots of fun. This book really has the same sense of humour that made the labotrary series great. This AI may not be obsessed with SCIENCE and cookies but he’s a great character in his own right.
