Audiobook 7 of the best-selling Eden’s Gate series!
The Scourge have launched an attack, and the Freelands are overrun with Ergoth’s army of orcs and goblins. Travel is no longer safe, trade is at a standstill, and Edgewood Village is in ruins.
With the guild in desperate need of gold, Gunnar treks through the battle zone to complete an unresolved quest and is faced with a moral dilemma unlike anything he’s ever experienced in Eden’s Gate.
His choices lead him to join forces with some unlikely companions and sends him straight into the heart of the Wastelands.
Orcs would never allow humans to enter the Wastelands freely, so how exactly will he get inside, and what secrets are lurking deep below the Wastelands’ surface?
In an unforgiving land filled with bloodthirsty beasts and monsters, Gunnar will be left questioning: Who is the real monster, and who’s the worst monster of them all?

Worth the wait!! Kept my attention the whole time!
I started reading Eden’s Gate when it was first released in 17 with “The Reborn” and so far each and every book has been an incredible journey. I enjoy all the characters, quest and most importantly I think the fight scenes are all well played out. ITS AWESOME that Edward is still pumping out new books and the fact this one was double the length was exciting.. also left me waiting and anticipating for the next one. This series of books has been my favorite LITRPG.. and I think that says a lot due to it being a difficult gene to capture readers imagination and keep them entertained. AWESOME JOB Edward Brody!!!

Detailed World Building AND amazing Character Development
Title says it all. World is deep in lore, geography, and magic. Actions have very real consequences, and characters evolve and grow along the way. MC grows from someone with hermit tendencies into some with deep convictions about the world and what they can do to make it a better place – all the while expanding his guild âfamilyâ Canât wait till the next book!

Another great read
I’ve come to really enjoy this series and it’s become my favorite even over Aleron Kong’s , The Land Series. Book 7 is full of action, keeps the world building going and keeps me wanting more.I took off a star only for a selfish reason of wanting Gunnar to run more adventures with his guild mates…Mr Brody has created a great group of characters!

Excited for the next book!
I reread this series as soon as a new book comes out! It’s a story that’s hard to put down. The main character sometimes makes bad decisions that leave you groaning at his choices and cringing at the results, but really drives home the feeling of humanity in the characters. I love learning more about the vast world of Eden’s Gate and hope we see more of it in the next adventure.

It has been an interesting ride so far.
I have always been suspicious of the elven queen, she has seemed too arrogant and so many other repulsive traits in large of a dose. Because of this the end of this book has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I had hoped she would relax a little like the king of high castle but she seems to be doubling down in such fool hardy ways and completely dismissive where should show some thought.Maybe it’s the nature of the isolationist nature of the elves simple magnified more magnitudes then reasonable compared the king.Over all, it seems like he is being pushed nonstop with now breathing room. When Gunnar first entered eden’s gate things seemed long and drawn out a little too much but as a gamer the breakneck speed is just ridiculous. It would be nice to see some of the building of relations he was doing. Give the guy some down time aside from running from one fire to the next with at most it, it seemed like, a week of which we read little about.Personally I would to see him take some time to study at the mage guild, kind of roam around a little before being pushed off a cliff again. Maybe see the hobgoblins, do some smaller tasks to help get the village repaired. Getting the time to prepare a bit before roaming to the other elf city.I would love to see more with the human king.Regardless I can’t wait for the next book.

best book in the series
I truly enjoy this series, but this has by far been my favorite! Brody gave us a serious page turner and a well fleshed out story.I feel like LitRPG books can start out really strong, then begin to fizzle the longer the series continues. However, this book has totally changed my opinion. Much wow! Very story!I seriously had such a fun and interesting experience watching Gunnar mature and still have kick ass adventures. There was enough progress the book felt far from stagnant, but still so much potential growth for individuals and their town that I’m already itching for the next book.I struggle the most reading through lots of battle scenes (I have the same issue when playing D&D), so I would have liked shorter battles, at least earlier on. But others might totally love the battle scenes, so that might not be helpful input. I think having shorter battles before the big boss battles at the end make them more interesting, and I feel less overwhelmed. Just a thought. But ya, I think you’ll love this book!

Good book but maybe best to wait to read at same time as next in series.
Really wanted to like this book but to much was left for other books to provide the satisfying results. Just feel like the whole book left me with to many unscratched itches and even the ending was left feeling disappointed. The main quest he pursues and jumps thru hoops the whole book to finish he just ends up failing and handing off the child and don’t even get to see where he’s taken. Just felt like it was half of a really long book. Hate writing this as I love this author’s work but the book just leaves you on such a down note (even leaving the character at a net lose on equipment with the few powerful items he got just being sold off instead of used to improve his guildmates power) which seems purposeful so he can rise again in next book but still long time to wait for what seems like should have been this books resolutions. My suggestion is wait til next book comes out to read both together at once rather than be left feeling meh about the story.

Pretty Cool
Okay overall pretty good will continue reading. Ultimately, Gunnar isn’t the best of people. He’s pretty nice compared to most others, not overly bigoted. But for the love of God he is not very smart. There were multiple times in just this book alone where he could have said things that would have had a chance to change the bad outcome that happened, but he’s apparently incapable of forming sentences when intense, critical dialogue moments come up. It has to be an intentional character flaw at this point, and I really have a love/hate relationship with it. Ultimately I say “pretty cool” as a title because despite how enjoyable the book is, this is a flaw that happens EVERY time in this book with no development on his part, and every time results in lasting consequences to himself and people around him.

2/3’s of the way through the book and I’m loving it. The writing is captivating and it’s got a good strong pace. Only problem is I only have third of the book left. If you where a fan of the previous 6 books, get this. You won’t be disappointed.

I love this series and have been looking forward to this book for a long time, it didn’t disappoint. The balance between action, story arc, Edgewood development and exploring ethical moral dilemmas was stop on, as was the degree of jeopardy.Such a great series and amazing author.
