GREAT Ring Battery Doorbell Pro
Simple to set up. Watched the videos from Just A Dad – great instructions/reviews. I had an existing Ring Video Doorbell 2 (purchased in 2017) – utilized the existing angle bracket with no issues. The new Ring Battery Doorbell Pro works great with my echo show 8 and on my iPhone. Love the 3d motion detection, head-to-toe video, 2 way talk with audio+, etc. Such a huge difference over my old doorbell. Wish I had upgraded sooner 🙂 I highly recommend the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro.

Great!
Bought this today to replace my older version two that came with my new house. The version two had subpar video quality but still worked. The pro came same day and I already installed it. The video quality is 10 times better. I attached a picture to some how nice the image quality is, even at night.

Decent tech, easy setup, battery is cool, just one minor wish for the front cover…
Pleased with the Doorbell Pro so far. The battery feature really made it useful since we don’t have an existing bell or wiring where we mounted the unit. The only negative I have about the product is that the front cover that protects the battery compartment has a very tiny screw on the underside to keep it in place. This has to be removed when replacing the battery. And I expect it will be a challenge to not loose it during the battery change out. Why not just put a snap or button to be able to remove the panel?

Ease of Set Up
Had another type similar to Ring, stopped working within months. Other family members and friends have had the Ring for years and recommended the Ring. It cost a bit more than the other one, but, you do get what you pay for! No issues with my Ring, works great and connects to my Alexa!

Don’t buy this product
I got this product in March, 2024. It was new on the market and advertised as the top of the line Ring Doorbell. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work! All I wanted was a doorbell that rings as “ding-dong” or something similar. This doorbell does have a ding-dong but it also makes 2 other sounds (wind chimes AND ring default x 4). That is a lot of sounds just to let me know someone is at the door. And in addition, if you just walk up to the door it starts with more sounds, before you event push the button.I tried to eliminate the sounds from walking up to the door, but even though I set the “Motion” to silent, it keeps making the sounds.I called Ring many times over the 6 weeks I had the doorbell. Each time they spent 20-30 minutes with me on the telephone only to come up with the statement that the problem is in the Ring App, not the doorbell and that their tech team has a fix and it will be posted in 3 days. I got that same advice over and over again. I finally gave up and sent it back to Amazon. It was past the 30 days that Amazon has to give a refund, but after a couple of more calls amazon did agree to a partial refund.Don’t buy this, and if you do buy it and get problems with it SEND IT BACK IMMEDIATELY!

Outstanding costumers service!
I bought the brand new 2024 ring doorbell. Had issues wiring do to it not being completely compatible with my existing house chime. Called customer service nothing could be done. Than Britlyn reached out from customer service and helped me resolve the issue. Sent new replacement ring and a chime. Thank you again!!

Ring Pro HD not any better picture than a regular 1080p Ring Doorbell camera.
I have a three year old Ring 1080P doorbell camera and I was hoping this updated Pro version would have better picture quality. I have good Wifi signal levels but the images are not crisp. Honestly if the person is not within 6ft of the camera it would be hard to get a picture that could used to positively identify someone, and because of the wider angle lens the background is blown out during the day even with HDR turned off. Actually my older Ring Doorbell camera has a little better quality image and the background is not blown out during the day. I’ve observed the same relatively poor image quality on my other Ring outdoor cameras too, but what can you expect for $50. At a price point of $200 for the Ring Pro Doorbell Camera I expected more. I will probably be returning it.

I was excited to upgrade to this doorbell, especially with the new head-to-toe view feature. However, the image quality from the wide-angle lens is noticeably worse than the previous Doorbell 4. The Doorbell 4 had excellent dynamic range, colours and details, *even with HDR setting turned off*. In contrast, this new model produces flat images with consistently overexposed skies. I purposely keep HDR off on my doorbells to conserve battery life, as it is already subpar with most Ring doorbell models even with the solar add-on.Additionally, I frequently encounter problems with recording when there is motion. Often, the footage displays gray blocks or goes completely black, missing important moments. This is not due to my network, as I have a strong internet connection with a mesh system and the doorbell is close to a mesh satellite.I am hoping a firmware update will address these issues. Iâve seen similar complaints from other users on Reddit. Given the higher price, the worse picture quality, and the current recording problems, Iâm not sure if this upgrade is worth it, especially with its “Pro” branding.
