Works well with HomeKit
Very satisfied with this lock. I have used various locks in the past that require a hub (did not purchase one) to connect to wifi and do any sort of remote monitoring or control. When I bought this one it was specifically to get the HomeKey support, but I also really appreciate that it connects to my HomeHub through bluetooth without the need for its own hub as a separate purchase. This really helps when I am leaving home and my HomeKit is set up to make sure it locks behind me, and that I can also verify the status when I am away from home, or upstairs home alone.Installation was not difficult, I have installed probably 6 or 7 electronic locks over the years and this was comparable. Probably a 20-30 minute job, especially if you have to adjust your deadbolt strike plate to make sure the dead bolt doesn’t rub against it. But nothing terribly difficult for the average person who follows instructions.Very happy with the product, and appreciate the option of buying the cheaper version without the fingerprint. I love fingerprint locks too, but when you have an Apple Watch that you can just tap on the lock for it to open, you really don’t need a fingerprint anymore.

Got this installed within minutes on my garage door into the house. For some functionality, an Aqara hub is required. I paired this lock with the Hub M3 and then proceeded to add it to Apple Home. The Apple Home integration also adds Home Key support which is a great convenient way to unlock this door.The lock connects with Bluetooth and Zigbee – and this does create duplicates in Apple Home, if you have bound your hub to Homekit, but you can hide one of the locks from the dashboard and its not much of an issue.I have had intermittent issues with it, but mostly user error. The customer support has been great and I would consider getting another one of these for other external doors.

Garbage lock – donât ignore the 1 star reviews
Literal garbage. Installed perfectly (though I can see how many can struggle with the striker plate being strange with plastic pieces) the deadbolt goes in and out perfectly but all I get is this âtest failureâ in app which if not complete apparently doesnât let me use the lock at all. Total and complete garbage, I had no issues with any of my other smart lock brands.

Great for backdoor and works well with Home Assistant
Install was a breeze, including steup for pins and users. Was able to integrate into home assistant via homekit using auto discovery, which is great considering we have no apple devices in our home.Performance is quick and haven’t lost connection with home assistant. There is a slight lag when locking through automation but maybe a few seconds at most. Fairly good quality, seems sturdy and well made, also a very nice price point at about $50 below the U100 and only losing the finger print scanner.

Purchased this as I had been eyeing the u100 but didnât necessarily need fingerprint AND HomeKit. This lock is great so far! Easy to install, easy to setup, and looks great! Iâm personally a fan of the black finish on the u50. Would recommend! Has an auto lock feature, door left ajar alarm, and master lock only safety features.

Easy to install via HomeKit
Installed via HomeKit and it worked perfectly from the jump. Express keys make unlocking a breeze and adding family members to it was no problem at all. Only issue was unlocking using the keypad. Had to download Aqara app and make a password that way to use the keypad because HomeKit keypad passwords would not work. Not a big an issue but had to discover on my own as the customer service website for Aqara is ass.

Poor Quality â Screws Donât Fit Deadbolt
MULTIPLE ISSUES! All of the screws included did NOT fit the lock bolt. Thus, the lock bolt could not be secured to my door. The hole size is too big for the screws included (none of the screws included fit the lock bolt). After watching the installation video from Aqara and others on YouTube, it appears my lock bolt was either incorrectly made or the screws included are too small. In addition, there is a plastic piece where the deadbolt is that falls off. Very poor product quality control. I am awaiting a replacement and will update my review if the replacement resolves these poor quality control issues and MAJOR issues â you canât use the item without the lock bolt screwing into your door (it falls out) AND having a deadbolt that wiggles around (wonât stay in a lock or unlock position). Aqara must resolve these issues ASAP. Very bad.

 I’ve had it for a little over a month. Works like a charms. Works every time.This is my first ever smart lock. I had no issues with the installation. Set it up on bluetooth on the Aqara App and used it on keypad/ bluetooth mode until my big move and internet service transfer. Once my WiFi was setup, added it to Apple HomeKit. Worked from the very first time. No hub needed for HomeKit use. Best part is that I can keep an eye on the door lock/unlock status even when at work. Whole family loves it. Best purchase ever.

Auto lock when the door closes is unreliable. A third of the time doesnât lock so have to be always on the lookout if door lock is triggered or not. Other than that itâs been good.

Constant connection issues, but the biggest buyer beware is this requires a lot larger hole than the standard hole in North America. Try to Use a hole saw on a metal door that already has a hole drilled! The problem is now that Iâve made a bigger opening. Iâm kind of stuck with this piece of crap! Maybe for will make it better? Or maybe the U100 is a better product? Maybe Aquara Can we reach out and help me solve this problem?
