Comprehensive yet approachable
As a professional software developer dealing with automations and AI, and having worked with Zapier in my solutions for years, I was really curious if I would gain much from this book. I was pleasantly surprised with how comprehensive the book is around everything that Zapier does!It covers all the functionality of Zapier completely, yet concisely. Lots of good screen shots, without being too heavy with them. Lots of step-by-step on all of it, but also has examples of how you might use each of them.It is well-organized so if you already know how to use one area of Zapier, you can easily bypass that area and learn about the next one. I really appreciate the structure of the book…and it is not a small book! But it is consistent and easy to follow along. Her writing style is helpful and I love her applying of the technology through ideas for us to chew on. AI is a relatively new feature in many softwares, and it is no different in Zapier. But she did a great job in covering how Zapier looks at AI and then gives you things to consider for using its AI functionality in your business.Overall, I would say this book is excellent, and geared towards newer Zapier and automation users, but there is a lot of good meat for intermediate and advanced users as well, since it covers the entire product in ways you probably didn’t consider. Excellent purchase!

Everything You Need to Know to Automate Your Business Processes with Zapier
“Automate It with Zapier and Generative AI” is a very comprehensive book with step-by-step details on how to use Zapier’s plethora of features to save you time and effort as you automate your time-consuming manual work. Almost anything you would want to know about Zapier is included in the book, either with detailed examples or with links to resources for further information.I was especially interested in the chapter on how to leverage Generative AI to expand the processes you can automate and to increase the time and effort saved through the automation. Kelly Goss, the author, did a great job including information on the various ways that you can integrate Generative AI in your process automation efforts. Whether that be through taking advantage of new AI-powered Zapier features or integrating with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, she walks you through examples of how to experiment and leverage the new capabilities. This book is a very thorough reference for using Zapier. Anyone who wants to become a Zapier power user should definitely read this book!

WOW! What A Great Book On How Zapier Can Help Streamline My Business Processes!
Kelly Goss has done a terrific job with this book! Before I picked it up, I did not know much about Zapier or the BPA (Business Process Automation) world. The book starts out by explaining how automation can help increase productivity for any business – large or small. She also explains key terms that are often used by IT professionals but many of us “lay” people don’t quite get which I really appreciate. I am a solopreneur with a few contractors on my payroll and I was able to identify several areas in my business where Zapier could help me to automate my workflow! For example, my marketing assistant creates a weekly newsletter and she posts segments of it on all social media platforms (a different platform for each day of the week). Did you know that Zapier can automate social media posts? I did not! Another area where I know I could use help is onboarding new clients. I currently use a Google form as my new client intake form. Zapier can help me to automate what happens after the client completes the form. For example, send the new client my Calendly link so they can book their initial consultation, wow! Kudos to you Kelly for such an awesome resource for small and large businesses who don’t want (or need) to learn how to code to improve their productivity!

This book is a game-changer for anyone looking to increase the efficiency of their digital life. I found the material incredibly easy to understand, with step-by-step guides that made implementing automations a breeze. The author dives deep into Zapier’s capabilities and offers real-world scenarios that have helped me see immediate results in my work. I bought the first edition and found that there is a lot more in this new edition including more content in the advanced features chapter (webhooks, code, app extensions and API requests). The new chapters on features and apps in beta, as well as automation and AI were particularly useful (and why I purchased the book). If you’re looking to maximize productivity by automating repetitive tasks, then I would recommend buying this book!
