Remains safe
I’ve been using Kaspersky for years until I read where the government is putting some sort of prohibitions on the software because the company is Russian. Bitdefender got excellent reviews, appears to be solid, and doesn’t seem to interfere with my machine or software operation.

Buyer Beware + RED ALERT UPDATE
My previous comments are below.TODAY THEY DEACTIVATED MY 1-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION AFTER ONLY 60 DAYS. ONCE THEY DO THAT THERE’S NO WAY TO CONTACT THEM, THERE’S NO PHONE NUMBER, THERE’S NO CHAT.My Windows 10 did anupdate and as a result this software stopped working. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still said my account wasn’t active. I bought this a month ago.1.13.24 update. They said I can have more than one device so I added my cell phone. After 2 months he would no longer work unless I bought it. Also there are way too many pop-ups for upgrades and selling other products.

Great deal when you buy the multi pak
Bought this for ours and some other family member computers. Works great. But a couple of tips when renewing year-to-year: (1) once you re-install, the 365 day clock starts, so don’t install like a month early, thinking you will then have 13 months of service. the one year subscription starts on the day of install. (2) If you are installing on someones else’s computer as well as yours, make sure to do yours first. I did my moms first this time around, then mine, and somehow messed up her install. (3) when installing, it downloads a very big file (50 GB I think) from a server farm. Make sure you router/wifi are up to snuff with xfer speed.

Lots Of Annoying Pop Ups – Wont Allow Uninstall
So, I have this for 3 PCS and I needed to take it off one of them for a little bit. Well, that still never happen to this day because when I try to uninstall BitDefender will not allow it. It tells me to first uninstall some other program by BitDefender, I checked my system and the other required program is not on my PC, does not exist or is hidden by BitDefender. I will not use or buy their software again, stick with McAfee of Norton and get peace of mind.

Great Antivirus
Installation instructions need to have a beginning statement that explains what you should do if you are replacing an older version of the same product.

Works as promised.
PC Magazine rated it at the top so that is good enough by me.

A lot of baggage
Too much baggage with useless uneeded apps. I just wanted an Anti-virus software not more useless add-ons presented as “FEATURES” but are masquerading as ADS. No, I do not want to purchase your VPN either.Context menu / Right click scanning is hidden in another menu. Why do modern devs love doing this? Having to add more clicks and hiding stuff in piles of menus. Then having the stupid file shredder there right next to the SCAN option. What happened to simple and intuitive UIs? It also bugs you to UNINSTALL any competitor programs like anti-malware.Installation was also a pain. Basically had to install the freeware version, then input the serial, then uninstall the freeware and install the premium, before that you have to go through a lengthy register process that took forever to e-mail the verifications. Then it installed other god forsaken programs asking you to buy them.Uninstalled this crap and bought a different one. That other one was purchased, installed and registered in 5 mins.
