Learn the howâs and whyâs of Tableau CRM
I am a Salesforce Architect and have used TableauCRM in my work so this topic is not a new one to me. I heard about this guide at a Salesforce conference and wanted to learn more from the author. I enjoy this book and recommend it to anyone who is engaged in a Salesforce Tableau CRM project. This book goes from understanding the concepts, to setup of the tools, datasets, apps and dashboards, all the way into advanced topics such as when to use code and how to build actionable insights with the data you are analyzing. What I am most impressed with are all the parts of this book that speak to âwhyâ you would take advantage of the different features in TCRM. This understanding of the background is very helpful in building our an analytics solution.Overall I would recommend this for anyone starting a new TCRM project and wanting to understand more.

TL;DR – Good Book 3.5 stars
The book opens with an explanation of what TCRM is and typical use cases. The author uses their own professional experiences in the use case examples. It is likely just the way I perceived it but the way they are written I am unsure if they are selling themselves or TCRM.Next there is a step-by-step guide on setting up the environment and a detailed explanation of the interface. This is followed by chapters dedicated to the main functions such as connecting to data sources and ETL. There is also a whole chapter on securing your data in TCRM, which in this age is always important. The book wraps up with several chapters on building dashboards from the different components available to best practices. There is a healthy dose of explanation of SAQL and where/when to use it in chapters 9 and 10. The dashboard building is the best content in my opinion, but I like to tell my data stories with pictures so I may be biased.I got this book because I use Tableau and I like data science, but my company doesnât use Salesforce, so I found it to lack direct applicability. Despite that, I did find the book interesting even if it had a Wikihow feel at times and was a little light on explanation of topics I thought were interesting. If you use Salesforce and are curious about exploring your data, this is going to be a good book for you. The technologically low bar of entry makes this an excellent choice for the typical business user.

Great book for starters learning Tableau CRM
Before I get into my review of “Creating Actionable Insights Using Tableau CRM,” I want to share my background as a Tableau Developer. I’ve been a Tableau Developer for over ten years, working as a senior business analyst. Recently I took over the job responsibility to manage a company’s Salesforce application to monitor new and existing opportunities. One of my responsibilities was to learn how to create dashboards using Tableau CRM to monitor the company’s sales pipeline and critical KPS. Finding books on Tableau CRM is quite challenging since Salesforce converted its Enstine Analytics application to Tableau CRM. After I started reading, this book was a perfect premier to get me started on my journey learning how to use Tableau CRM. The text can get a bit technical at times, but for the most part, it is an easy read with great examples of what you can do with Tableau CRM. I’m glad the book didn’t get into the Machine Learning part of Tableau CRM because that would have drawn away from what I believe most readers are looking for. If you’re looking for a starter book on Tableau CRM, this is for you.

Great book on Tableau CRM
Solid 4 star book. I wish that I had this book when I was studying for my Tableau CRM certification (TCRM) earlier this year. This book provides an excellent background on business intelligence and analytics to create context. The rest of the book is a step-by-step look at TCRM (but not Einstein Discovery topics). The chapter ordering seems to follow a similar path to the certification (which I found very logical and useful). The book also has many examples with tons of screenshots and the steps necessary to do the exercises. Again, very helpful to anyone interested in actually learning how to use this product. Towards the end of the book the discussion shifts to dashboards and best practices. Overall I found this book to be superior to the certification materials that Salesforce provides and recommend it to folks interested in learning about TCRM.

First book in TCRM
Einstein analytics (Tableau CRM) is a new feature incorporated in Tableau 2021. Many Tableau users might feel it difficult to master Einstein analytics if users were not familiar with Salesforce before. Fortunately, “Creating Actionable Insights Using Tableau CRM” comes! This book is the first one which systematically introduces TCRM and how it works in Tableau reporting. After you read this book, you will get to know how to start with TCRM, make dataset in TCRM, build analytics dashboards in TCRM and go from data to insight to action. I strongly recommend this book if you want to get started with TCRM quickly. Meanwhile, I hope more real project samples can be incorporated in the next version of this book.

Great introduction to TCRM
This was a great introduction to the world of TCRM. I like how the book is organized based on how a developer would go through a project. I even used the glossary of terms to study for the TCRM certification exam and passed last week! While this is a great overview, I would recommend this for very new users of TCRM as there is not a lot of detail about more challenging topics. If you are looking for TCRM cert training, I would start here! and supplement with trailheads.
