Tired of being chained down to your computer?

Hands hurt from hours of writing?

Looking for a way to dramatically increase your hourly word count?

Want to write 1,000,000 words a year without breaking a sweat?

Sounds a little crazy when you say it out loud. However, this is easier to accomplish than you’d think. Especially when using dictation for all your writing.

Dictation has the power to transform your life whether you’re writing a novel, short story, blog post, or paper. Whatever the outlet, dictation can help you increase your productivity levels.

Over the past two years, I’ve switched over to dictation, and I went from writing about 250,000 words a year to over a million words. If I really wanted to amp things up, I think I could go even higher!

The quickest way to success as a new author is to pump out more quality books on a consistent basis. Many indie novelists try to get a full 100k+ book out every three to six months. Using dictation, you’ll be able to hit those goals with ease. You could release something new every month if you really felt inspired.

So what’s the secret to getting all this done? Well, dictation on its own, while wonderful, won’t write your book for you. You still need to build better writing habits and put in the work.

Here’s a preview of what’s in this audiobook:

An Introduction to Dictation Types of Voice Recognition Software First Starting Out With Dictation 5 Way to Improve Your Writing While Using Dictation 20+ Tips to Improve Your Writing and Dictation Skills Dictation Apps, Books & Resource Guide And much more!

    Dictation rocks!
I can’t believe I only started using dictation this week, all the time I wasted since this technology became available, it’s unbelievable.I really liked how to book broke down how to use this technology and I am actually using dictation to write this review! The book also lists many different resources that could help you get started with dictation.Dictation just saves so much time – if you write a lot of emails, texts and documents I highly recommend start using dictation.Takes some time getting used to the punctuation but once you get the hang of it it’s totally worth it.Get this book if you want or if you think you want to start using dictation. It would give you a great overview of the subject.

    Write with less effort.
Dictation is a big help for those people who couldn’t handle lengthy sessions at the keyboard on a daily basis. I find this activity useful to spend less time in writing especially in today’s fast-paced age. Since not everyone is familiar on how this thing works, a guide book is best recommended. This one I got is good, the methods are reliable. Voice dictation software was also introduced in this book. This technology allows you to write hands-free and it is simply wonderful. This is an excellent reference.

Only 36% of the book is about dictation, the rest is random “bonus” material
Only 36% of the book is related to dictation, the topic that I am interested in. The rest is totally unrelated (“How to make money on internet”) and is called a bonus. To me it was a negative as it inflated the size of the book and make it appears more substantial about the topic that I was interested in.The first chapter is introduction about the benefits of dictation and ends with the software that the author does not recommend, but could be useful to get a feel on whether you like using dictation software. The second chapter goes over hardware (microphones, recorders). The third chapter discusses Dragon software and how to practice using it. In chapter 4 the the author shares his methods, for example writing and editing separately. Chapter 5 is the tips from experience. Chapter 6 goes over the non-free software that the author recommends. The chapters are short and the book ends on page 38, which is 36% of the book. As I mentioned earlier the rest of the book is completely unrelated to the topic that made me buy the book. If someone include such a huge amount of bonus material (64% of all pages) it should be related to the topic that made the person buy the book, not just some random stuff.Ali Julia review

Useful not just authors, but also for freelance writers!
This book is so concise and informative. First, the author outlined the benefits of dictating instead of typing then he proceeded in giving the tips and tricks in dictation. What I love about it most is the fact that he gave a lot of resources which you will really find useful! I know I won’t be able to write a million words in a year since I only work as a part-time freelance writer (being a teacher is a tough job), but the knowledge will come in handy someday. Great book.PS: I also love the 2 bonus books 🙂

    Most not about dictation
Most of book about author’s methods of making money online instead of dictation strategies and tactics. Worth $1 or less

    Informative, well-written, 5 stars.
My husband and I both write fiction, and he recently began using Dragon software to dictate. This book is a nice companion for that software. If you’re the kind of person who’s more comfortable “telling” stories than typing them, you can significantly increase your productivity by using it and similar products. As for me, I’ll stick to typing, but I highly recommend this book to those who plan to use dictation in their writing. It covers everything you need to know.Side note: The book also comes with quite a bit of bonus material. Free stuff! Woohoo!

Writers write more with the help of Kevin Gise!
Thank you for this motivating and insightful book.I am a little behind on the times when it comes to software, and it was interesting to learn about the different software available for speech recognition. If you are reading this review, I dont want to waste what the book is about, but I would recommend this book for several reasons. Covers everything to motivate you, introduces some new software, and will enlighten you to write your best products – more often. You have an incredible idea for a book? WRITE IT – please share it with the world! This book will help you start and get things on “paper”

Nothing groundbreaking, weird second book in back
It’s the basics. He has a few good tips though. The most annoying thing was an additional book about making money online that has nothing to do with dictation and it takes up half the total amount of the book! There are better resources out there.

This is an excellent book that teaches al you need to know about using speak to text dictation software. I know this works because I wrote a 40,000 word book in a couple of weeks by dictating it.The only reservation I have with dictation software is that I wrote an article for a client and he knew I had used speech software to write it.I don’t know how he knew as I edited and checked it as normal but he did.Highly recommended.
