24VAC, 40VA doorbell transformer
I measured this doorbell transformer, and it provides about 27 VAC without any significant load. I actually didnât get this to use for a doorbell, and Iâve never understood why a doorbell needs such a high power rating (40VA â roughly the same as 40 watts). I got this to power a 30 watt audio amplifier with a single sided supply (since this doorbell transformer only provides a single 2-wire AC output, and is not center tapped). It should work great for that purpose. As for just using it with a doorbell. . . well, all I can say is that it meets all the sellerâs specs, as far as I can tell. It did come with a wiring diagram for various doorbell configurations. What I really like about it is the very convenient housing and mounting bracket, which is great to have when you need to mount a transformer at some odd angle. It also has a ground connection (green wire), which is connected to the transformer chassis. 5 stars.

Did The job!
My doorbell camera started acting up as of late and kept showing me low voltage in red lettering and I thought well my forty-year-old transformer was finally giving out and wasn’t designed so long ago to handle the more power consuming camera doorbells so I thought it must be time for a new one.I saw this 24volt transformer and said that should definitely be enough for my camera since my very old one was only rated at 16volts and I am sure has weakened after 40years, so I ordered it and very happy I did because this 24v transformer took care of my doorbell camera problem immediately after connecting it and was very easy to install and doesn’t take very long at all, just make sure the power is off to the transformer before connecting it.Everything is back to normal now with this new transformer and working smoother than ever actually.If you are also suffering from a similar problem, I think this unit would help you as well, I just hope for another 40years but of course I won’t be here.

40VA transformer that has multiple uses. Most customers will use this for a doorbell, but it can be used to test thermostats. I would suggest getting a different type for testing thermostats, such as one that is in a black plastic housing.

Good Furnace Transformer
The transformer is well made and it provides 27V without load. It has a base that can be easily mounted to furnace. The price is reasonable.

Heavy and well-built
This transformer is heavy and seems well-built. My video doorbell kept complaining that it wasnât getting enough power. I was hoping this would fit inside my older chime from the 1990s, but itâs way too big for that (my mistake). Instead, I had to mount this in the crawlspace and thread the low voltage connection for the video doorbell back through the wall. I like that this is UL recognized – the sticker on the device shows it under E477055. Since itâs been installed, Iâve had no difficulty from the video doorbell.Dimensions:Height: 2 â âWidth: 1 15/16âDepth: 3 ¼âMounting notches are 1 29/32″ on center and 1 9/16″ apart.

Works great for Eufy
I upgraded an existing 16v transformer to this 24v transformer in anticipation of adding a second wired video doorbell. It wired up just like the previous transformer and our existing Eufy doorbell powered right up and has been working flawlessly ever since. According to Eufy this transformer should be able to run a second camera as well. I will update when I add the second camera but so far very happy with this product and it is roughly the same price as the lower spec’d transformer at the big home stores.

Good transformer for video doorbells and doorbells that aren’t just the older audio type
My old style doorbell transformer blew, damaging itself and the doorbell button. I took this as a n opportunity to install a Ring type doorbell and video. But it seemed like replacing the old 16VA transformer wouldcuase problems with the newer type doorbells that needed more voltage, so I ordered this one to get the 24-40V that the system would need. It was easy to install and so far the entire thing works very well, wired in and no need to constantly have to charge and replace batteries. Not sure if this transformer works for all systems but it certainly seems to work for the Ring/Nest system!
