There work great with my Roomba!
These virtual wall barriers work great with my Roomba, and cost much less than the OEM version.

    works for my 675 roomba
This review is for the virtual wall barrier for the Roomba. I was nervous about ordering this because it’s listed as working with ‘some’ of the 600 series Roombas. I have a 675 and I decided to take a chance on it since it’s something we’ve been wanting for some time. This is definitely a good value for what it is. The main downside is that no instructions were included. I feel that even a small sheet of instruction should be standard, but it is pretty self explanatory. It also didn’t say what batteries it took. I thought I had read another review that mentioned AA batteries, so I put those in and it worked immediately. I put it on the radius mode and the Roomba obviously reacted to this and turned around when it approached. It didn’t have any issues and never got around it to go through the doorway. It is smaller than I thought it would be, but that’s not an issue. After the Roomba stopped, I forgot about this and went to get it a few hours later. It didn’t appear to be on anymore as in the little light at the top was not blinking, but it was still working when I flipped the switch, so it may have an automatic shut-off, but I don’t know how long it takes to shut off or if it was just that the light stopped blinking after a while. Again, a short instruction sheet would have been nice. Because of the lack of description and instructions, I would have to say that this is not very giftable as is, unless you’re handing it directly to the person receiving it so you can explain it. I let my husband guess for a while what it was without telling him and it took him a while, even after looking at the label on it. However, overall, I’m very happy since it works well and I may even get another one since we have two doorways into the kitchen and that’s where we’re usually trying to get the vacuuming done. Would definitely recommend.

    These do not work.
I’ve followed the directions to the letter, charged them, nothing works. Total waste of money.

Keps my robot vacuum out of trouble
We have two doors open to a sunroom on the house and our Roomba i6 sometimes falls over the edge and gets stuck. I ordered this barrier unit so we do not need to put boards down anymore. It was smaller than I expected, but works just fine. I placed it next to the opening and the vacuum kept at least 8″ away from the line of the door. The door is a solid 10 foot opening and there were no issues. There were unfortunately no instructions of any kind. The basic operation is pretty simple, but some information like the range of activation and the maximum distance it will cover would be useful.I have no idea how long the batteries will last yet, and while it does light up when first turned on, I see no way to tell if the batteries are good or the unit is still on. Again, instructions might help. This unit has dual modes, a straight line barier like for my doorway, but also a circular one, which we will try out next Christmas to keep the robot away from the gifts under the tree.

Happy i6 / i6+ user – Ridiculously simple and SO MUCH cheaper than iRobot
I really wanted to get some of these virtual barriers when I got my Roomba, but they were quite expensive. I gave up and forgot about them. When I saw this on Amazon, it was cheap enough to try it out. Two of these sell for a lot less than one iRobot virtual barrier.I was surprised at how small it was. I guess from the pictures, I had expected something larger. It’s a lot less obtrusive than I had expected. Setting it up meant putting in two AAs (not included) and flipping the switch on the back to the 2′ radius barrier and putting it somewhere that I didn’t want the Roomba to go.It worked perfectly. The Roomba was rolling along on its merry way when it suddenly stopped and the light ring turned blue. It was a bit over 2′ away from the barrier device at the time. Then it searched around and found another direction to travel in.There were no instructions included with the device apart from a sticker on the product showing the difference between the two modes. Perhaps that’s because this is listed as a “replacement” so maybe they’re expecting you to know exactly how it works. Since I never had these for my i6, though, I had to figure it out. In the end, there was little to figure out because the battery compartment on the bottom was obvious and the only other feature on this that I could do anything with was the switch on the back that goes from off to circular barrier to linear barrier.Wonderful little product that’s very reasonably priced. While you can theoretically do the same things with the map in the app, that’s a lot more difficult to use, especially temporarily, and I’ve had problems with the mapping feature in the past. I’m ordering another double pack (this time not through Vine) so I can block off all the places I’ve been wanting to stop the Roomba.

    It just works!
Until I saw this virtual wall barrier light, I didn’t even know there was such a thing! Now the Roomba doesn’t try to get too close to the edge of the stairs and tempt the cat! I’m impressed by how easy to use this beacon is, and so far the battery life has been great, so I’m very thankful that I found it!

No connectivity issues and works flawlessly with iRobot
Needed a second boundary beacon to section off an area for no-vac in our home and this after market pairs flawlessly with our iRobot without any issues in connectivity or reliability. Our iRobot responded to its boundary set line and now we have the ability of two beacons that we can use and move to locations as needed. Two boundary settings, straight line (up to a distance of 10 feet, and a round parameter). Keeps the vac away from our cats food bowls and the one area rug that it can’t handle.
