Worth The Upgrade!
I am very impressed with all the great features this Echo Dot offers. The sleek design of the sphere and the cloud blue color is aesthetically pleasing. It’s very easy to setup this device through the app and it connects to my existing amazon account with no difficulties. This newer version has a clock display that is very handy. The led display is very bright and can show not only the time but also the weather, song titles. . . and so much more. I like how I can stay informed about vital information, today I was notified automatically of a weather warning for my area which is a great feature. Connecting smart devices to the echo dot is easy to do. I connected all my smart lights and now I can tell my echo dot when I need a light on/off and I can also adjust the brightness too. One feature I really enjoy using is “drop in”. You can use this device like an intercom. When I am in another room I can talk to others using my phone which is connected to the echo dot, such a great feature. Listening to audiobooks and music is another feature that works really well, the sound is perfect. This echo dot has so many great features, I highly recommend this product.

Not reliable
Got this for a Christmas present and after a couple months, quit responding to voice and alarms that are set. Only the clock face operates unless you unplug and plug it again. It may work for 12 hours after that if youâre lucky. My other Amazon regular echos and echo show have always worked fine. I wonât buy this again

Has Issues
I own several Echo devices since the first Echo came out. They all have worked flawlessly over the years. Then I purchased this Dot 5th gen with clock. Really liked the clock feature. Until recently. As other reviewers have mentioned, this Dot stops responding to voice. I have to un plug to restart. Then it will work okay for a little while. I have had to do this several times. I looked on Amazon for a replacement but I see Amazon no longer sells this Dot. So, Amazon is aware of this problem. A lot of unhappy customers.

Poor quality
I have the echo dot with clock. It worked great for about 10 months and then problems started. Time incorrect, wonât respond and the alarm wonât work. Have reset several times, unplugged and followed Amazons instructions. Last time I was told itâs not a software issue but a hardware issue. Amazon needs to fix this before selling anymore.
