After accepting the fact that he will never know his old reality again, Gunnar looks forward toward building a new life inside Eden’s Gate.

It’s time to form a guild, gather resources, and earn the acceptance of the Edgewood inhabitants.

If only things were that easy….

The dark elves aren’t thrilled about having humans in Edgewood, the mine isn’t vacant, and you can’t form a guild without at least a few guild mates.

Will Gunnar pursue Adeelee? Is Rachel still out there somewhere? And who is Jax exactly? Could he really be a Sparrow?

    Write faster!
Well at least that’s what I’d like Mr. Brody to do. Haha. It’s a shame you can’t just think the story and it appears in print!I’ve been exclusively reading the litrpg genre over the last several months and the stories can be quite grasping. I like them tremendously when they’re done well. I have had one bad experience and hope I never see that kind of poor writing again. The authors work was bad enough to keep you lost in his own work by constantly using nothing but pronouns, from paragraph to paragraph, to the point you couldn’t understand who the hell he was speaking about. Ugh!But fear not faithful readers, that is not something you will find here! Something as simple as describing who is speaking makes a story so much easier to follow. There’s enough to do just wanting to fall into the characters and their stories without worrying about grammer and technical mistakes. These two books from Mr. Brodys’ work are on my excellent list. I even liked this second book better than the first, though both books are very good. Makes me wish I’d jumped into reading this after the author had finished his fifteenth book in the series! Yes, I hate waiting for the next book 📙, just like everyone else. C’est la vie.

Great story that made me feel like I was hanging out with friends
Gunnar Long was once human, now his body on earth is dead and his mind is trapped in a full immersion VR game called Eden’s Gate. He’s what the fully sentient A.I. NPCs in the game call, a reborn. Having accepted his fate as a full-time resident in this world, Gunnar has found a few friends and a place to build a home. Now, he’s expanding his ambitions by forming a guild and working out plans to expand his new home into a place people will come to for trade and crafting. However, questions remain about his old friend Jax and his connection to the band of killers and thieves, The Sparrows.—This was such a joy to read. Even though it’s listed as being over 300 pages long, it went by in a flash. From the first pages of the story, it felt like I was meeting up with old friends that I hadn’t seen in months and we went on some adventures. This is not an epic story about saving the world, it’s just the story of one ambitious player, Gunnar, and his adventures in Eden’s Gate. There are lots of great fights, crafting, a little flirting with an elf princess, community building, and some follow up with storylines from the last novel. There’s also the introduction of a new player, who may or may not have slightly skewed morals. There’s a tiny bit of story from the real world but most of the story is set in the game, which I really liked.Overall, this was a really great read. The world building done makes the characters feel real and I want great things to happen for my buddy Gunnar. For me, it was like relaxing with some friends and I really can’t wait to hangout with them again in the next book.Score:8 out 10

    Good LitRPG series start
A nice LitRPG series. This first book starts up the main character Gunner. In a twist of deception the game designer traps 5 million people in his MMO by killing their bodies. This book goes along with Gunner who was catching a few minutes in the game when it went live (dead?). Now stuck forever in the game Gunner realizes actions have consequencesI liked the premise here and overall the story. I’ll be reading for a while.

    Can’t stop this feeling….
So I normally take some time after reading a book before I write any review, give it some time for the climatic high to wind down after a great book. However, I just had to get this out while I was still thinking of it, and that this was even better than the original!Normally the sequels for the first book are more of the “middle-of-the-road” affairs that tend to set up following entries. Lets be honest, most authors now-a-days plan for multi-book series so they try to limit progression for the sake of continuity or they overpower things, hit them with some form of amnesia, time-travel, or massive WTF moment that resets and allows for more time in the franchise. I can honestly say this book is not just a setup, but a full-fledged treat wrapped up in 351 pages of wordy goodness. Our MC is still trying to find his way in the world, but he is getting closer to defining his paths. Like any road to conquest, its filled with decisions and consequences. Thankfully, it seems he is finding his compass on things and even has time to help point another would-be “player” in the right direction. Also, lets not forget about the potential interests he has brewing. Will be great to see how that shapes up, especially with that oh-so-juicy reveal at the end *NO SPOILERS*.Anyways, if you have managed to read the first one and are even bothering to read the reviews for the second, do yourself a favor and pick it up. This definitely expands on the first and opens up to so much potential its driving me nuts. Now just to wait for the next release….

    Hooked
I loved it. The character development is great. Gunnar is a normal person. A gamer. He doesn’t win all the time. In fact he loses quite a bit but it’s not like his loss is a bad thing. Whenever a bad situation happens and he loses or something really terrible happens he actually learns from his mistakes. Don’t really see that often in Other Stories. He’s not OP and he is learning and gaining skills to improve himself. The story here has kept me engrossed and that every moment the descriptions the character interactions kept me going. I legitimately wanted to know what happens in every turn of the page to Gunnar and his followers or partners. It’s interesting to see his reactions two situations that can Branch out and unorthodox ways. This was an amazing read a great continuation and I hope to see more. Can’t wait for the third installation

    Better than the first
I still dislike the High Elves and really look forward to seeing someone who refuses to bow to them while having the powers to do that. The MC is better but I still think he is stupid and doesn’t ask enough questions and is so naive about certain situations.

With a little bit of base building, not too heavy though, Gunnar gets involved with high/dark elves, prostitutes (not the way you think^^), little bit of politics and friendship. He starts to gather more people around him and doing some leveling.I like how he stumbles about hidden quests by mistake 😄

I picked this book up immediately after finishing book one in the series and I was not disappointed. The first one was good, this one was better. The author continues with a very fast-paced, well-structured story that roars along. Seriously, the author knows what he’s doing in every scene and it makes the story hum.Gunner, the main character, expands his abilities and gets into some more interesting intrigues, as one does with a little more power under his belt. He’s also still very much on the weaker side of much of what he faces, and he spends a goodly amount of time running for his life. His knack for getting into trouble is well balanced with his knack for getting out of trouble in a way that stirs up more complications down the road.Familiar characters return and are more developed, lots of adventuring, and an ever-expanding world to enjoy. If you liked the first, you have to have the second.
