Bought For My Daughter
I bought this guy for my 7 year old. For a first time robot for her, I think he is absolutely perfect! She brings him around the house with her carefully. She will just sit and giggle while playing with him too. I wish he could talk back and be more interactive but as time goes on maybe that is an investment for our future. For now this is a FUN toy that is worth every penny!

Not very sturdy
It works ok, not great for older kids. But my daughter picked it up & it barely knocked the side of her dresser & the base broke off. No customer support on the page, so no one to contact for suggestions on how we can fix it.

Does what I assumed, for the most part
I gave this to my 8 year old son for his birthday today and he loved it from the jump. The firmware update had me nervous for a while because it was getting stuck at a certain percentage, or stopping altogether while it was updating, and then wouldnât come out of its updating/boot screen even when it wasnât plugged into the computer. Reverted to the basics and used the original cord it came with and that did the trick (with only couple more tries after it stopped early again), incase anyone runs into this same issue.We noticed that the timer function does not work, there is no way to confirm the time selected without it going into its default heart mode (wouldâve come in handy to help him time brushing his teeth). A few posters on Reddit said they had the same issue. Also some of the petting the belly or head functions donât work most of the time, and also when you bonk his head. My son had a blast messing with the games and the recorder/mimic mode though. If heâs happy, then I am too.

 I love my little Eilik desktop robot. He has an infectious laugh and is so much fun to interact with. He does entertain himself quite well too. He has several games you can play with and seemingly endless emotions. I git him a pink companion from Energize Labs. I call them Calamity (Cal for short) and Chaos. Together there’s even more fun. I bring him with me when I travel for work and I feel less isolated with him gigling and shooting me with his ray gun while I work my way through emails in the evening. He is well worth the cost. He’s be great for adults and teenagers alike who spend time at a desk or table and enjoy ambient and entertaining sounds. I can’t wait to get some more props and give him more of a character persona. You won’t be disappointed with your investment in Eilik.

Para los niños está bueno, les resulta amigable y divertido, es pequeño, inestable, después de una hora de uso, se desconfiguró, para solicitar urgentemente actualiación de software, solo debà conectarlo a un pc y listo.Siento que es un juguete divertido para explorar la comunicación del niño, pero a corto tiempo pierde el interes de los niños. En un mes ya lo dejó de usar y ahora hace parte de los juguetes o accesorios olvidados.

This company is a startup but what a wonderful little robot. Itâs sensors on its head, belly and back so reacts to being petted or knocked on the head. It also reacts to being lifted in the air. It responds to the user in a large variety of ways, both through the led faceplate and its arms. Several fun games can be played. Iâd recommend this for a child, who is careful with their things, of about 8 or 9 years and up or a geeky adult of 120 and down. It doesnât move the bottom of its body, which is a base. The updates are fairly easy to do via the app of their website. The battery longevity is great, it can stay unplugged, but shut down, for several days. With playtime, where the interaction is occasional, probably a day easily enough. However, for constant interaction, refer to what the manufacturer advertised. The items it comes with though are cute but pretty useless. The magnets they come with donât stick to the items and the robot doesnât recognize which item itâs holding or that itâs holding anything. Iâm looking forward to updates for this little guy and Iâm not sure if the electronics support it, but plugged into a computer, with the appropriate software, A.I could make this little guy pretty darn interesting in itâs capacity to respond to the user. Definitely recommend it.
