Works great, easy to install.
I purchased two of these to install into a home we just bought. The old deadbolts were keyed on both sides and flagged as a hazard in case of fire, there was no way to unlock them by hand unless you had a key. The eufy Smart Lock seemed like a good way to fix this. The first door lock was installed in about 20 minutes… worked perfectly. The second door presented more of a problem – not because of the new lock – but because the old deadbolt had an alignment problem that created issues with the eufy Smart Lock. It was eventually solved, and is now working properly. I highly recommend these… they’re very reasonable in cost (in fact I plan to buy one more), and work great!

Great hardware. Works great as described. Some integration quirks.
Hardware and packaging on the Apple level. The software and integration is Okay, but works just fine. Integration with Google, Alexa almost without a problem, but it takes time to figure out how to open door by voice (you need to add Eufy account and code to Google Home and Amazon Alexa first, without adding as the Matter device 🙁 ). Smartthings need to follow order when you adding device/service: Eufy first. Just open Eufy instructions paper from the box or online version and setup everything in Eufy app first. After that you can make your door lock smart.Closing/opening door is very quiet and quick. The only problem is that the lock can’t detect if door is closed/open, but this by design. You can add door sensor for $3-5 (from AliExpress) to your Smart home, so you will be able to close the lock when door is actually closed.8 batteries is little bit overkill, but I hope it will survive more than 6 months.Matter/Tread support is okay, but at this time it’s still many things needs to fixed and functionality limited compared to using manufacturing app and bridge. With BF discount this is the one of the best if not the best and affordable Matter Smart Lock for now.

HomeKit issues (update)
HomeKit keeps saying the device is not responding. Have to remove batteries every week or so to get it to work again. Please fixMotor is weak and often times will say itâs jammed even if itâs not. Even if itâs slightly tight if youâre pushing on door itâll not lock or unlock** update! Eufy has been great and are working to help me solve this issue! **

Doesn’t Matter
Lock is fairly easy to install and the Wifi setup was smooth. Matter / Apple HomeKit, well that is a whole different story. First time it failed during connection and was a challenge to reset unit to try again. Sadly the reset lost all settings (fingerprints, access codes, etc.). Second time it managed to connect to HomeKit and operate (lock /unlock) but failed to set access codes with HomeKit. However within minuted it lost connection entirely with HomeKit and simply on the HomeKit interface says Updating… and is grayed-out. Have tried factory resets many time, new batteries (3 sets), verified firmware is latest, and all Apple updates as well but it after all the work, it simply will not talk to matter. Eufy support offers chat but after several attempts to get it, I am told to email support. Will be returning as nothing should be this hard to connect. I have many devices on HomeKit for years and matter connected devices have been easy to connect and quite reliable – except the Eufy, I guess it is fair to say their lock simply doesn’t MATTER for now…

Much Better than The Rest
Iâve gone through a myriad of smart locks. As a latchkey kid growing up, I lost a LOT of house keys. Iâd have to regularly call my Gran to come let me into the house after school for lack of a key. As an adult my luck didnât change. Which is why I absolutely adopted smart locks the moment they came out.Iâve tried them all. The big names like Schlage are expensive. The No name versions are either unreliable (Think standing in a torrential downpour for 10 mins while your lock says your fingerprints arenât recognized and they backup keypad also didnât work well while wet). Then there were some who would eat through (4) AA batteries a week.I was about to give up and go back to a life of losing keys repeatedly when I found this Eufy lock on prime day and decided to give it a shot. Best decision I made. Not only does it look great, it works EVERY time. The more I use it, the faster it learns my fingerprints and the faster it opens. Plus I can use my Apple Watch to unlock it from my car if itâs raining and Iâm in a hurry. It has a lot of the same features as the other brands, but the Eufy lock actually works reliably. Iâd highly recommend it and will be getting (3) more next prime day so I have them on the rest of my external doors leading into the house. Plus it really pairs with the other Eufy products in their ecosystem.

Great value for a matter and thread enabled lock
One of the first matter with thread networking locks. Matter will let you use Apple, Alexa, etc all at the same time if you want. Thread will double battery life if using Apple home. Eufy resolved no response issues with a firmware update. Got low battery warning after first week so I unpaired Alexa to minimize use of WiFi which eats batteries. Batteries seem to be lasting much longer now. The E30 looks good, is reliable and future proofed with matter and thread. Glad I worked thru initial issuesUpdate: looks like the low battery warning was false. Batteries still had 1.5 volts. Eufy fixed with firmware update. Same batteries read 100 now.

Updated Review: I originally had a ton of issues with this lock not responding in HomeKit but after a few updates (now at 1.0.8.7), the issues seem to have been resolved. Haven’t had any issues with it not responding in Apple Home anymore so it seems like it’s safe to buy this now.Original Review: If youâre looking at this lock, youâre probably paying a premium for matter, thread, and HomeKit support. Unfortunately, all of these things are completely unreliable.Like other reviews, it works for about a day or so in HomeKit then it just randomly gets stuck with âno responseâ and the only thing you can do is remove it and set it up again. It seems to constantly drop from the Thread network because I have an Eve smart plug literally in the same room and when I check the network, the Eufy lock is gone yet I never have any issues with the Eve plug in the same room also using Thread.Works fine over wifi but if thatâs all you need thereâs no point buying this more expensive model.

Great lock with good features. So far working great.

There is not a matter code. Don’t even see the “Works with matter” option. Waiting for response from tech support. Will probably need to return.Update: the Eufy (Anker) technical support confirmed that this smart lock does not support Matter. False advertisement? If you need Matter, you may need to consider something else.
