A very pleasant upgrade from Ring
Have been using Ring for the longest time, but after seeing the cost increase each year Iâve decided to give Eufy a go.What a pleasant surprise! The doorbell feels very sturdy. Quality of the image is very nice. Notifications work very well along with answering the call and talking through it.This is a nice addition to my Eufy solar camera.

The eufy video doorbell Iâve been waiting for
C31 has the features that makes this door bell competitive with other brands. 4 second pre-roll, 24/7 continuous recording, removable battery, high resolution. Only been using it for one day, but so far itâs meeting my expectations

Great but i wish it supports 16:9 ratio instead
The picture product shows a 16:9 ratio but this model doesn’t support it. Other than that, it’s a perfect camera. Replaced our ring with this one and I’m glad we did. Better battery, better camera quality and no subscription at all! Camera is easy to set up as well.

We cannot get the SD Card to Format!
We were very excited to upgrade after our Blink doorbell stopped working. Unfortunately we cannot get the SD card to format rendering this product useless without getting cloud storage which we don’t want.We will try to get this working or will be returning for a different brand/

Timely Notifications
I bought this to replace a Blink video doorbell which I found to be unreliable as a doorbell (missing and late notifications).I’ve only had it one week but so far I am very impressed with it. Notifications on my phone when the doorbell is pressed are immediate, whether I’m home or out and about. So far, I have had no incidents of late or missing notifications. The human detection feature works very well. I’ve had no false events from cars or animals. The mechanical mounting design is also much better than the Blink, which is fairly easy to break off the tabs that hold the doorbell to the base.

Love the battery and Quality
The most important thing is the 24/7 recording and the fact that alexa automatically shows up the video when someone pushed the button or moving is detected.. Loved

This doorbell has significantly enhanced my home security, and hereâs why:Crystal Clear Video QualityThe Eufy Video Doorbell C30 offers 2K Full HD resolution, providing sharp and detailed video footage. The 16:9 expanded view ensures a wide-angle perspective, allowing me to see more of my front porch area. The video quality remains excellent even at night, thanks to the built-in night vision.Easy InstallationOne of the standout features of this doorbell is its easy installation. The battery-powered design means thereâs no need for complicated wiring. The setup process was straightforward, and the included instructions were clear and helpful. I had the doorbell up and running in no time.Smart Detection FeaturesThe Eufy Video Doorbell C30 is equipped with human and motion detection capabilities. This means it can differentiate between people and other moving objects, reducing false alerts. The notifications are prompt, and I appreciate the ability to customize detection zones to focus on specific areas.Live Video Call and Two-Way AudioThe live video call feature is incredibly convenient. When someone rings the doorbell, I receive a real-time video preview on my phone, allowing me to see and speak with visitors even when Iâm not at home. The two-way audio is clear, making communication easy and effective. No Monthly FeesOne of the biggest advantages of the Eufy Video Doorbell C30 is that it does not require any monthly subscription fees. All video footage is stored locally on the included HomeBase S380, which means there are no ongoing costs for cloud storage. This is a significant cost-saving feature compared to other video doorbells on the marketAreas for ImprovementWhile I am very satisfied with this doorbell, there are a couple of minor areas for improvement. The battery life, while generally good, can vary depending on the amount of activity at the front door. Additionally, there can be a slight delay in notifications and live video feed, which could be improved for even faster response times. Also the minimum suitable operation temperature for the device is -20 degrees centigrade. Most regions in Canada get lower temperatures than this in a typical winter. This might make this unsuitable for the Canadian winter.ConclusionOverall, the Eufy Video Doorbell C30 is a fantastic addition to any home security system. It combines high-quality video, smart detection features, and ease of use without the burden of monthly fees. Despite a few minor drawbacks, I highly recommend this doorbell for anyone looking to upgrade their home security. It has certainly provided me with peace of mind and enhanced security for my home.

Iâve been using this doorbell for a couple of weeks, and itâs been a mixed experience. The build quality is solid, and the video quality is clearâdefinitely up to the 2K claims. The 16:9 expanded view provides a great angle, letting you see more of your front door area. Itâs also got a mic and speaker that work well for real-time communication, making it easy to talk to visitors from anywhere. AI motion capture works well to, and I really appreciate that it doesnât require a subscription to work, or get access to these features (AI detection – motion vs human or car, etc). However, there are some issues to consider, before you pull the trigger. Read on..Setup was straightforward. The app guides you step by step through the process, and the physical installation is simple (two screws) and they ncluded mounting guide sticker. The device pairs with Wi-Fi easily, and even if your power or internet goes out, it can still record events locally (recorded to a micro sd card thatâs not included)The main issue for me is the battery life. Itâs equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, but how long it lasts depends on your settings. I started with motion detection (AI for people), and the battery dropped to 66% after just three days. I switched to recording only when the button is pressed, which has been more manageableâdown to 40% after two weeks. If you rely on motion detection, expect to recharge it weekly, especially if thereâs a lot of foot traffic. On the other hand, less frequent use will stretch the battery life much further. If you want to record motion and weekly battery recharging sounds like a hassle, you might want to consider a wired version. The video quality is clear during both day and night, even when the doorbell is exposed to direct sunlight. The infrared night vision works well for low-light conditions. Local storage is another big plus, as thereâs no need for a subscription fee which is a huge plus. It supports up to 128 GB via microSD, so all your recordings stay private (assuming the bell isnât stolen with the card inside).Performance-wise, the doorbell is pretty reliable, but there are some quirks. The app works fine but can be slow when accessing the doorbell. Notifications for motion or button presses take around five seconds to arrive, which feels like a long wait when youâre trying to respond quickly. Also, renaming the doorbell is a headache and doesnât work like it should (at-least for me) Even though I renamed it âFront Door,â my smart devices (Alexa and Google Assistant) still announce the default product IDâa long, clunky number. The app itself briefly displays the original name when loading, which probably causes the naming issue.A couple of things to note: The doorbell doesnât come with an indoor chime, so youâll either need to buy one separately or rely on your smart devices and/or phone for notifications. It does support integration with Alexa and Google Assistant, which is helpful if you have a smart home setup, but it may announce the original device name which is annoying (despite changing the name in both the app and with the smart device service).Overall, itâs a solid device with good video quality, decent audio, and easy setup. If youâre okay with regular recharging or only need occasional use, itâs a good choice. But for heavy motion detection or less fuss, Iâd recommend the wired version instead. The app and naming issues donât feel fully baked, but pretty good.

Prior to this battery doorbell, I have 8 eufy camera devices. 3 Eufycam 2, 4 indoor cam C210 and a 2k wired doorbells. As such I’m very invested in the Eufycam ecosystem and know how to use their products. Previously I have extensively used Wyze security products as well. I got this Eufy battery doorbell to use with our backyard door which doesn’t have any pre-existing wiring. The setup for the doorbell like all eufy products is super easy through the eufy security app. The app takes you step by step through the setup and installation. The physical installation is also super easy because it comes with a guiding sticker that you put on the wall, drill your holes and then install the base. The doorbell itself performs well for the price. It is a wide angle lens that gives 2k resolution which allows you to zoom in on a recording of needed. During the day the door bell has direct sunlight on it and it still manages to show a person’s face fairly well.My only negative with both the battery and the wired door bell is that the phone notification takes upwards of 5 seconds to arrive. They Wyze doorbell was quicker. 5 seconds doesn’t sound long but in certain situations when you’re out of the house and want to respond to, it can be a bit too long. The battery doorbell also didn’t come with a chime so you have to buy it separately or rely on the phone notification.I can’t speak to battery life just yet because I’ve only had it for a short time. But my Eufycam 2s that are battery easily last 6 months so I’m sure this battery doorbell will last a long time before needing to be recharged.

I love that it’s battery powered as I don’t have the option to hardwire it. Battery life can range from great to terrible depending on just how much activity there is in front of it. In my case, the door is off to the side so there often isn’t motion to record. But if it were facing the street, there would be a lot more motion which would drain the battery significantly quicker.Videoimage quality is quite decent. Notification has a slight delay, no more than 5 seconds.. While that is a bit, you also do have to consider it’s a device that has to wake up, then send video over your local wifi connection out to the internet and then to your mobile device. We’re not quite at full 5G capability yet in this world, so this is acceptable for now. This one in particular doesn’t come with a chime, just the home base and the door bell. However, the chime is available if you really do have the need for one.All in all, it’s a pretty decent door bell and I’m impressed enough with it.

The doorbell camera which can be installed next to your door is a great thing to have as a provides some added security. It has recording in 2K video quality and records every ring and every movement (the user can define how sensitive it is and can vary it from daytime to nighttime) default is it will save 30 seconds of video for each event. Only issue is the 2K video quality doesn’t feel like 2K when you’re streaming it. However it still acceptable. Replay is real 2K quality. When someone rings the doorbell your phone gets a notification as if you’re getting a phone call however if you have Alexa or any of the Eufy home hub it will sound a doorbell in your house. Without Alexa the only way you will know if someone rings is the notification and vibration on your phone which means you always have to have your phone on hand and your phone should not be on silent! When someone rings you could choose to talk to them in real time and see them through the camera. Even when you’re not home. Alternatively you can choose to look at them and use one of the three pre-recorded messages. You are also prompted with the option to record your own message and save it for the future. You have to download the app first to view most instructions. The little instruction booklet provided is useless besides telling you to download the app for instruction. The setup of the camera itself and pairing it to your Wi-Fi is seamless. If the Wi-Fi and or power goes out you’re in luck, the device still works and you can still interact with the camera and the camera still records all events.Once you screw the plastic frame to the wall, you snap the camera inside. Then, the only way to remove it is to use a SIM card removal tool to release the camera from the frame, exposing screws underneath. This removes the camera from the mount which stays on the wall. This provides some security in case of theft, however if someone is motivated I am sure they can find a way to remove it by breaking the plastic and yanking it off the wall, or by brute forcing the mechanism, or of course by using a SIM card removal tool. Note screws are provided to mount with a bracket to the wall. The battery should last 4 to 6 months however if you live in a winter environment for example Canada, the colder it gets the battery will not last as long. However in the summertime, you should have no problem getting the full amount of battery. Unless it’s too hot, then again you may not get full battery life. Battery usage my drop faster depending how many times the doorbell is used, how many events it detects and records (depends on your settings as well).
