Great product
Starts up in foreign language, but you just open your Google Home app and it’ll restart to English. Super easy and convenient. Don’t let the other reviews scare you off!

Cannot change the display language after device reset.
After getting a new internet provider I had to update the network the Nest View used which isnât easy. I followed some online instructions, had to do a factory reset. After that while I could change the language the device spoke the display language stayed Chinese no matter what I did. I contacted Google support who told me my device was manufactured in Hongkong and that is why the display language was in Chinese. They told me after a factory reset the display language will be the language of the place it was made and could not be changed. They also told me it was Amazonâs fault for sending one made in Hongkong and I should contact them to see if they will do anything about it.

A very useful accessory for your smart home hidden behind a painful setup
I purchased this product to help me manage my growing list of smart devices and to be honest I was a little afraid that I wouldn’t actually use it much considering I already have quick access to Google Home’s functionalities via several Alexas, my phone, and my voice. Day 1 it’s already put my fears to bed. The dedicate Home Control interface is actually better than my phone’s Google Home app and well-optimized for tablet use (unlike most apps on my own Android tablet). I do wish I could customize the app list since I don’t use a lot of the installed services or even add more apps, but it’s not a big deal.Media management is also pretty great. The speakers are surprisingly solid quality, I think a little better than Alexa speakers (sorry Amazon). I wouldn’t recommend watching anything on a 7-inch screen but it’s quite easy to cast stuff onto your smart tv; you can even set connected devices for default display/audio playback so with one touch you can use the Hub as a fancy tv remote or control music quickly. My biggest gripe is with the setup. Like other buyers, my Nest Hub did start up in a foreign language (Mandarin) but adding the device in your Google Home app on your phone and scanning the Hub’s QR code should immediately fix this quirk. It also took a few tries to get it to connect to my wifi but that could have been my internet being stupid. In addition, I encountered a bug where the Hub “freezes” when giving me the initial feature tour (It wouldn’t let me progress through the tutorial and I could access the Photo Gallery and settings but nothing else) but this is fixed by rebooting the Hub on your Home app and letting it update. All of this is only annoying for initial setup, but as someone already entrenched in the Google ecosystem I wish it was a little more plug and play.Overall I don’t believe the Nest Hub is worth the ~$100 price tag per unit in its current state, but with further refinements or a 3rd generation I would absolutely put one of these in every room. Despite that, it’s still good value compared to Amazon and Apple’s offerings and a useful accessory for smart home control.

Same as description/Love it
Itâs exactly what it says it is..it connects to the internet super easy. Itâs all on an app from your phone. The sound & picture quality are amazing. I use it everyday for music, weather, asking random questions, & home security too. You can connect cameras to it. You can sync your entire phone to it & use it for phone calls or texts. 10/10 recommend!

Not a regular Android user, but this works as a great smart alarm
I am not a regular Android user, but I love the alarm this offers. Great to wake me up to the sunlight, followed by custom sounds. It obviously has a ton of other features that can be used, but for the price, it is hard to beat just as a smart alarm!

Just Ok but with some annoyances
I got this to replace my early generation Amazon Show. I initially was happy with the Show until Amazon spewed “Sponsored Content” on it all the time making it an annoying home billboard to sell me things with no way to turn those off. Really Amazon? So the Nest. Its ok, not quite there yet as far as maturity. Sound quality is on the low end of satisfactory at medium+ volume levels. Its not as good as Alexa at responding or picking up commands issues being -1. It sometimes seems to be “thinking” or theres a lag somewhere when asked to do something. It may reply after many seconds or it may just not reply at all.2. Since I have a Samsung phone, both try to reply or get confused as to which device should reply. I changed the sensitivity setting for the Nest to be higher, but still theres a collision going on sometimes. Hey Google developers – why not make it possible to customize the wake word like Alexa does so different devices have different wake words?Googles behind on this device system and since their probably isn’t much revenue or reason to improve it, I think its always going to be a “meh” device.
