Hexers Game Board and Screen

Your adventure awaits

How did we get our start?

Two friends had a hard time storing and transporting their game mat as this is a big item. They thought that there had to be a better way!

A foldable board was the answer.

What makes our products unique?

We spend a lot of time talking to other tabletop RPG players. This provides us with ideas for new products.

Our products are unique and innovative. We enjoy trying new ideas and fine-tuning them.

Products get copied so we have to keep innovating.

Squares and Hexes: The board is 44” on 34”. It contains hexes on one side and squares on the other side. Squares are 1”, hexes are 1” side to side. 43 x 33 squares. 49 rows of hexes alternating 32 and 33 hexes per row.
Giant Board: The perfect board for advanced players. This giant board consists of two parts. During your adventure you can add the second board to add an element of surprise to the game. You can connect both parts to create the XL map. It has about 2.5 times more playable area than our classic “Squares and Hexes” board.
Dry Erasable: We recommend correctable pens for long-lasting outlines and dry erase markers for short term drawings. The dry erase markers can easily be erased with fingers or pieces of cloth, erasing the correctables requires the use of the erasing tip. The use of a damp cloth or micro cloth is required for most markings after a couple of days, this also helps against smudging. No pens or markers are included.
Easy Transport and Storage: The board is foldable and measures 17”x11”x0.75” fully folded. The box measures 17.25”x11.25”x 2” and can easily fit in a backpack. This leaves some empty space in the provided box that can be filled with dice, miniatures, map tiles, rules, sheets and markers. The drawings can be left on the board when folding. This is convenient for multiple gaming sessions requiring the same terrain. The dry erasable lines can be erased and redrawn for a new adventure.
A lot of fun: Players are able to see the action in real time. This makes it easier to see what is going on.

Customers say

Customers like the size, functionality, and design of the board game. They mention it’s large, can fit even the largest maps, and is well-made. Some also appreciate the ease of cleaning and say it’s easy to fold and unfold. However, some customers have issues with the foldability and mold content.

Great Product, Just a few hiccups, but worth the money!
Updated!First off, I do plan to revise my review to four or five stars, why? I’ll get to that after some things you should know. The first off is the mold issue you’ll read about? It’s gone. I reached out to the seller the day I bought this and asked them about it. It took them an hour or two to get back to me. They’ve added silica packets to the boxes and started vacuum sealing the boxes. Mine smelled kinda like a new car’s glove box. (I’m actually letting air IN right now)Second, This is what I plan to revise depending on their response. One of the two slats, yes it’s so big it’s in two parts, came scratched on one side and with strange dimpling on the other. Normally not a big deal…but they’re just deep enough to catch marker ink. Thus making it difficult to clean.Third, the actual product review. First. This thing is giant. You can easily have multiple dungeons on it or you can have one mega-dungeon on it.>The material is solid, I tried to fold the thing up once incorrectly? It wouldn’t even let me. It stuck at a right angle.>It’s hinges? I think they might have some type of tape inside because they had some resistance to them.>As I mentioned earlier it has two “slats.” They’re each so big you could easily use one or the other as its own board.>Best part of the two slats? They line up. Per-fect-ly. On both sides. Yeah, they went there. BAM.>I tested the erasability in a corner with three different brands. Slides right off clear. I can see it getting stained after a while, maybe a few years of use? But what board doesn’t?>For bang for your buck? You’re getting four boards in one essentially. Two physical and two too draw on.I’ll update my review to five or four stars depending on the outcome of my damage issue.Edit: Updated my review, while they were not able to replace my damaged slat, the vendor was 100% understanding and refunded more than half of the purchase price.

    Perfect for tabletop
Love that it’s 2 halves for large and smaller battle maps. Perfect for most ttrpgs that use grid and hex.

Nice and Easy to Use But …
I like the idea for this product and I like the actual product. It’s sturdy, lays flat, and the dry erase markers I have write on it nicely and, most importantly, erase easily. However, there are a few things that keep this product from being ‘perfect’ for my TTRPG games.1 – The boards are ‘slippery’ on a wood table.Because the surface is made to write on with dry erase markers, the boards can slide when touched and set on a smooth surface, like a wood tabletop. With several people sitting around the table playing, it’s fairly easy to move the boards, especially if you have both set out, making them easily misaligned (if your map covers both boards. I plan to affix some of those small rubber ‘feet’ to both sides to help keep this from happening. If the board came with them as an option (for those who would like to install them, that would be awesome, imo).2 – The print between the two separated boards is off a bit on mine. That means I cannot align the grids correctly. They’re not far off, but it’s off enough to bug someone with OCD.3 – Related to #1 above – since the surface coating makes these boards a bit slick on some surfaces, it can be difficult to keep the boards, and your map, together if you’re using both boards. It would be cool if there were a means of ‘attaching’ them so the two boards function as one. Maybe some kind of temporary ‘tape’ that could be affixed to the boarder area to keep them from separating when jostled?Overall, the main idea is great and I like this better than the vinyl rollout mats. But I think this needs a bit more work to be a $60 product, to be frank. Overall, I’m still giving this 4 stars because it does what it advertises and I do like it.

    Great Size and versatility.
This product is exactly as expected, it is a large dry erase board (like a board game board, not the kind you would find in schools) that quad folds down to a smaller panel for easy storage. There are 2 detached boards in this that can be pushed together to form one giant board, which should be more than big enough for any combat encounters you might run. A single board is often enough for a full battle mat, which means this package effectively comes with 2, meaning you can run 2 different combats at once on their own board. And of course this has hexes on one side and squares on the other. This board provides a ton of versatility. My only complaint is that when pushing the boards together, my particular boards don’t line up perfectly, so when my boards are physically in line with each other, the lines don’t match up, I have to offset the boards slightly for the lines to match.

    D&D Night Essential
This game board was extremely useful. I am a DM and I feel responsible for providing my players with the best possible Dungeons and Dragons experience, with this board I was able to take campaigns to a whole new level. I am in college so I don’t really have money to spend on a lot of miniatures and maps for campaigns, this board brings all that experience in a neat inexpensive form. Using different colors to signify permanent structures and differentiate them from temporary items like props. If players do have miniatures, placing them on this board with a drawn map is as easy as putting bread in a toaster. However, if players or DMs don’t have miniatures, just using a different color dry erase marker from the props and structures on the map and and just erasing them when characters make movements I have found works really well. This specific board labels itself as “XL” which is not to be taken lightly, this board is HUGE. We usually do sessions at my house and we have a fairly large coffee table that we use to set everything up, this board hangs off at the edges slightly. If you don’t have that much room, this board does give you the option to only use half as it is a fold out map split in two, and the instruction manual that comes with specifies that you can cut the board in pieces if you need to. Otherwise, I might suggest to purchase the normal sized one, but definitely go with Hexers over other brands.

Perfect for tabletop games. Comes in two halves. You don’t necessarily need to use the whole board, and it folds in half which is very useful. The XL version really helped my friends and I with more freedom of drawing maps without so much concern for running out of space.
