Works surprisingly well for a hobbyist device
As the result of a recent surgical procedure, I suddenly found myself unexpectedly having paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Not fun. My cardiologist anticipated that it might go away on its own as I recovered, so I wanted a way to track my episodes instead of having to take my pulse and guess. This device does just that. It’s easy to set up and within 30 seconds, it’ll tell you whether you are in AFIB, you’re in normal sinus rhythm, or somewhere in between, using only the index and middle finger of both hands. (There’s a more advanced mode where you use your leg as well, but I haven’t tried that mode.)The software will show you your cardiac rhythm and tracks it, allowing you to bring up any day you’ve taken a measurement. There are other features as well, but I haven’t delved into them, so I can’t tell you how well they work.

Easy to Use and Learn!
This is a great device for anyone to learn how to use! It offers a great amount of features and consultations from cardiologist. I don’t have any complaints and have been using mine for over six months!

Way better than my old 2 lead
This little device works just like the ad says it will. Works with the app to visually see your printout. My Cadiologist recommended this on as a better option than the 2 finger option I was using. You do have the ability to save in PDF form and share it with doc.I do the 2 fingers each side – held against ankle area. Easy to get obsessed, but don’t… checking once part day or if you feel something. I go a week without monitoring, then checking over a couple of days, then ignore for a while. You don’t want to drive your doctor nuts with multiple feeds… good way to get dropped!!The information and algorithm gives you feedback as to what’s going on with your heart. But as always – trust your instincts and body… if you don’t feel right. You might not be… call your doctor!

Sensor stopped working
I bought in July. Only used maybe 10 times total and the sensor on the bottom won’t pick up on my leg or ankle. I know it still “works” because if I put my finger on the bottom sensor it will light up green. But for some reason won’t pick up on my leg or ankle. Very frustrating because it’s such an expensive product and of course past the return date. Thought I’d be able to use it more than 10 times. Also, when you’re having heart symptoms and need to take your readings immediately you can’t afford to lose time fiddling around with a device that doesn’t work. Dry disappointed!

I’m going to keep using it but…
I bought this with the 6 month subscription. At first I didn’t enter the code that came with it. The first reading was normal. Then after that it kept prompting for a code and my readings kept reporting as unidentified or possible atrial fibrillation and tachycardia. This happened every time I tried for several days and I got concerned that either this was broken or I needed an ER visit. Finally I entered the code and took another recording. Magically I haven’t had a single anomomoly since. I guess I will use it until the subscription runs out and see if it reverts back to being a nuisance. It is easy to use and convenient so far but a Dr has since told me there are cheaper devices out there that don’t play games and require a subscription to use them. So at least now I am aware and won’t be renewing the subscription on this device. It would be cheaper and less alarming to buy a different one especially if it’s going to land me in the ER when I’m actually fine…

Excellent device!
I bought this for my dad after he experienced a cardiac episode. Iâm a paramedic and appreciate him being able to email me his EKG. It works well.

Essential device for cardiac care.
Quite possibly saved my husbandâs life. He recently had cardiac surgery, and had been discharged from the hospital. After three days home he suddenly felt as if someone had punched him lightly in the chest, and the feeling continued every 15-20 seconds. My husband has no history of atrial fibrillation. My father whom happened to be with us at the time (and has a heart condition), quickly got this device out and did an EKG on my husband. Back to the ER we went and they were able to confirm he was in fact in afib with an extremely elevated HR. I am beyond grateful this home medical device exists and have already bought one for ourselves. It was super easy to use. And clearly was beneficial to have on hand in the case that someone around you may be in need. The doctors at the hospital all seemed familiar with it, and even reviewed the EKG reading. They appreciated being able to see exactly what condition he was in during the onset of afib.

Really a toy and notmuch use wihtout the expensive subscription
They don’t tell you if you drop the subscription you even lose the R-R Interval Plot and the Average Beat Plot on the reports. That’s just being vindictive. So pretty much the unit is useless without the subscription other than a toy.The device does seem to completely miss some events that it should easily detect and is a bit jittery for the first few seconds of the test. Mine completely misses AFib (verified by cardiologist) and Right Bundle Branch Block, which is easy to see.You can set it to capture longer than 30 seconds, but it will still review only the first 30 seconds. That seems kind of silly to me and takes away some of the value. The KardiaCare Heart Health Membership seems like a complete waste of money. You will always get a pretty canned response stating the event could or might not be serious and you should always see a doctor. One could probably come up with that on their own. And I found my cardiologist to be completely uninterested in the device results even though he suggested I try one???On the flip side it is fun to play with and therein lies all of its value. The KardiaCare subscription is a complete waste of money in my opinion. If you really want a review of your ECG here it is: You may or may not be sick. See your doctor. That’ll be $25 please. 🙂
