Book Description
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) enables automating business processes using software robots. Software robots interpret, trigger responses, and communicate with other systems just like humans do. Robotic processes and intelligent automation tools can help businesses improve the effectiveness of services faster and at a lower cost than current methods.
This book is the perfect start to your automation journey, with a special focus on one of the most popular RPA tools: UiPath.
Learning Robotic Process Automation takes you on a journey from understanding the basics of RPA to advanced implementation techniques. You will become familiar with the UiPath interface and learn about its workflow. Once you are familiar with the environment, we will get hands-on with automating applications such as Excel, SAP, Windows and web applications, screen and web scraping, working with user events, and we’ll cover exceptions and debugging. By the end of the book, you’ll not only be able to build your first software robot, but you’ll also wire it up to perform various automation tasks with the help of best practices for robot deployment.

If you’re looking for a step by step guide, this might not be the book for you
I really wanted to like this book but the gaps I’ve found (and in all transparency I just reached chapter 4) is frustrating. I’ve taken online classes on UIPath previously so I have some navigation and basic capability. my intent was for a refresher material and was looking for this book to fill that need. to be fair, here are some specific examples which, if one had zero knowledge to start with, might make it difficult to learn:chapter 4 – clipboard management. this one i could not really figure out but the instructions to indicate an anchor for Select all and copy is not clear and I kept getting a “step is not recorded” error message when I followed the instructions to the key.page 104 – the “a” should be “A” to count otherwise the message box does not display.page 95 – the variable name needs to be specified in the input dialog box; this critical instruction is missingpage 87 – the instruction for y.ToString is missing, following the instructions will result in an errorchap 3 page 83 – the instruction “Create two variables; an integer variable named item and an array integer variable named x…” – however, up to this point , the instruction on how to create a variable has not been tackled. you’d need to figure it out yourself and can be frustrating if you’re starting from scratchstll have some more examples noted down but I think I made my point. just frustrating.

Very simple book. Very little relevant informantion. A bunch of topics listed as chapters, and sections, but very little content.I would recommend going the courses at UiPath RPA Academy instead. They are free and contains a lot more information than this book.I would not recommend this book to anyone.
