Not my cup of tea
Iâm older than I used to be and even this is a tough read. I wonât give up and keep the book because I really want to learn this. The information is there so Iâm not going to call this a fail. I just need to read it a few more times. Maybe Iâll get a video to go with it.

Not very helpful
Easy to follow, not very in depth

Great Book!
A well written book with coverage on everything you’ll need to know about Power BI Desktop and Services. Probably the most comprehensive reference I have without needing to purchase several Microsoft books. The only issue is locating the downloads, as indicated, but it appears the book was written before Dummies changed their Website. You can’t control URLs in books written months ago.

A thorough primer on Power BI
A solid read, helping you understand Power BI Desktop and Online Services. A true one-stop reference.

Excessively wordy/Files are not correct
As noted by other reviewers, the files are not where the book says they are. After finding the files at the publisher’s (Wiley) website, it turns out they are not 1 to 1 with what’s referenced in the book. DataPower.xls comes to mind as one that is missing and some of the other file extensions are different from what’s listed in the book. No bid deal going from .xls to .csv but it instills some doubt if the example you are working on isn’t looking correct compared to book examples (which are often to small to see). The writing style is excessively wordy. The tone swings way into the conversational side of the spectrum. I realize that this is not a technical manual but a better balance with word economy would be better. There is an entire chapter dedicated to the differences in Power BI versions. Not the worst thing but the same info in a more concise form can be found at the Microsoft product page. What gets laborious is re-reading this same info over and over in the next 10 chapters needlessly bloating their size. All in all, I did learn a few things from this book but it was not time efficient learning and frustrating trying to skim through the conversational style to get to substance. The irony of my review being excessively wordy is not lost on me but hey, it’s a review not a tutorial.

Difficult to follow along
Not what I excepted from Dummy series. Other books from Dummy series have hit the mark not this one. Downloading examples was confusing. Would not recommend this book

Gen X

This book is truly fantastic. Itâs written in a way that you can understand and provides real insight and examples that are useful. Even touches on the complex functions too.

Il libro spiega in maniera maniera molto molto semplice ma comunque approfondita la Power FBI ed è utilissimo per chi inizia ma anche per chi vuole approfondire alcuni aspetti
