Simple, priced well, easy to install; lacking Google or Alexa support
Bottom line: Simple alternative to more expensive locks- especially if you don’t need Google Home, Alexa, or Homekit integration. The lack of remote access or the ability to addWho is this for: Ideal for those who either haven’t selected a smart home platform/ecosystem to work in or simply don’t care to, this lock is mainly for a place you live at, as there aren’t many remote access options. You must enroll fingerprints on the lock itself (can’t do it in the app) and can only issue one-time PIN codes, not codes with expiration like others (e.g. Lockly).Ease of installation: 5/5 – ExcellentMakes you feel like a genius, no matter how (un)technical you are. It just works. Well designed and helpful instructions with quality hardware (e.g. strike plates).Looks: 5/5 – ExcellentLooks stylish, minimalistic, and perhaps a little like an angry Cylon when locked. We got the satin nickel and black finish.Versatility: 5/5 – ExcellentWant to unlock with a PIN code? Check. How about fingerprints? Yup. How about with a custom PIN for your dogwalker or Uncle Bert? Gotcha covered. How about if it loses power or if you’re just old-school? There are two keys for that.Integrations: 0/5 The only major negative of this lock is it does not work with Google Home, Alexa, or Apple Homekit. So you do have to use the Philips app to set it up, but the app is easy to use.The Competition:Another good option is the Lockly Secure Pro, but its setup is a little less intuitive in the app and the overall cost of ownership is higher. It is a very robust solution though, which I recommend for rental homes.Worst: Yale x Nest (which is the worst because it makes you start over repeatedly, and use two different apps to make it work – the Nest app and the Google Home app). Oh, and if you get the bug where it eats batteries in 2 days instead of 3 months, you’re just earned an expensive paperweight.

Great smart lock for security and convenience
I installed this Philips smart lock yesterday and it has been nice! The design looks great on my door and the build quality feels very solid. Installation was pretty straightforward with the provided instructions, and it only took about an hour to set up. I love the multiple ways to unlock the door, PIN code, fingerprints, key, and also with my phone. The fingerprint sensor is quick and accurate, and the app allows me to control the lock remotely, which is super convenient when I’m not at home since I also bought the wifi bridge with it. The auto lock feature gives me a peace of mind, knowing the door will always be locked after a few seconds when I close it. This is definitely worth for the price for the convenience and security it provides. Highly recommend the Philips smart lock if you’re looking to upgrade!

Works great, so convenient. I modified the magnet for a flush fit.
The usage of this lock is it’s best feature. It’s simple and works perfectly. The finger print sensor is reliable, it reads my thumb print each time. I setup a couple of pin codes as backups in case it can’t read my finger. The backlit number display is easy to read. The install was relatively easy but I could not get the back cover to fit on correctly. There is a sliding clip on each side of the lock that you slide up and then push the back cover on. Then you slide down the clips to secure it to the lock. No matter what I did I could not get those clips to slide down, the cover would not fit flush on the lock. It works fine this way but I know something is not aligned correctly.I made a modification to the magnet sensor. The lock comes with an external magnet and double sided tape which you know will not stick for very long on paint. It’s also sticks out a good bit and could be knocked off easily entering and exiting the house. I had some magnets that are round and drilled a small hole in the door jam and placed the magnet where the instructions noted. As you can see from my photo the magnet is flush with the door jam, it will never be knocked out. You could even paint over that if you wanted to. The reason for the magnet is so the lock knows when the door is closed, it can auto lock the door. I love this feature.Another minor modification I made. The knob that you turn to unlock the door from the inside of the house is all one very dark color. With a dim lit room you cannot see the position of that knob. They should have made that a different color. I took some reflective tape and placed a strip over the knob so you can easily see if the door is locked or not.

very well made
i have a couple of digital locks on my house, but i have to say, this is by far the best. it installs with ease, and has more features. it is more solid, and even though i place how something looks low on the list of importance, this lock, looks great. stream line, and fits the door very well. i have the black model. if i have any problems with other locks, i will buy another of these Philips.

Great Lock with all the features I needed
I was a little skeptical about this because it didn’t have a lot of reviews like others and I didnt think Philips was known for making locks. Having said that, I decided to give this a shot and am pleasantly surprised. It pretty straight forward to install this lock and it took me about 45 min. The lock mechanism is pretty good and seems well built and solid. the convenience of fingerpint (which has been working great so far) and PIN code along with concealed key hole are great options. Overall, happy with this lock and looking forward to years of usage. Also, app is just ok. Does everything as expected but I think the UI could be better. Lastly, the description said that it worked with Alexa but when I tried to add it to my Alexa account it said the model I got doesn’t support it. Taking a start down just for that.

Genuinely easy to install, easy to use
Painless to install ââ and I’m no handyman. Had the old lock off and this one in and operational within 30 minutes. Comprehensive written and video installation instructions; everything provided you could possibly need, just bring a Phillips screwdriver. Interfaces with the app right off the bat, so easy to have fingerprints registered with the lock. It just works!
