  1. Vaz ( Author of The War Against Them)

    Excellent read
Part two is actually more fun than part 1, if that was possible. Good storyline, nice character development. Worth the read. Now on to part 3.

A Gut Wrenching, Heart Pounding, Fantastic Read
This book was an amazing read. It was hard to get through it at times because you are so invested in the main character, and he goes through some hard things. Don’t worry though, it all comes out in the end. I recommend this read for young adults and up due to some very realistic battle scenes and some sophisticated themes.

    Its a solid story
I liked it, but maybe there was a touch too many discriptions of objects that was more than necessary i feel, Otherwise solid book. The MC feels weird though as a supposedly super A.I. he should be a master of fighting and the scenes almost never reflect that which annoys me immensely.

    Better Than Expected
When I started the book, a significant plot change happened that moved the story away from how the first book progressed, and I was disappointed, believing it to fall into a trap previous writers had when trying to keep their work fresh. However, the further I read the more the story and the quality writing won me over, and by the end I believe this to be at least as high quality and engaging as the first book. Bravo I look forward to reading book 3!

Didn’t think this book could be better than the first. I was wrong. Amazing book and looking forward to the rest!

    I’m going to need more.
Listen, no rush, but this series has pulled me in harder than almost any series I’ve ever read. I wish I could forget it and reread it, but I just wanted to thank you for working so hard on developing characters and a world that both seems familiar yet so interesting. You’ve got such a fantastic mix of character development and world building that it’s hard to explain to people who haven’t read your books. Usually people specialize in one thing, but you’ve managed to pull both off with no discernible downside.I’ll be honest, you introduced a lot of new elements in this book that had me nervous about spreading things too thin, but you consolidated and tied everything so well that didn’t feel like new elements by the end of the book. The new elements felt like a larger part of the same story. Bravo. I’m so excited to continue reading your books. Hydrate…wear your seatbelt, go to the gym three times a week… and don’t you dare die before finishing this series.

    A decent sequel
This was a decent follow up to the first book. It gets started much faster. A little more disappointing is how long our hero spends away from all the friends he made in the first book.I took a star away due to the presence of my most hated trope which essentially boils down to “MC losses control when he fights”. I’m not super happy this was added to the story and seems to be here to stay.

Comparado ao primeiro, manteve o nível de qualidade, gostei bastante. Gostaria que tivesse mais conteúdo falando sobre os status e diferentes escolhas de habilidades, algo que foi um dos focos no primeiro livro. Espero gostar do próximo.

Really interesting progression. The mc adavances but not without some flaws. Epic end battle that broke him lead to months of recovery. Aspect of this world are classic but with an unique blend that I find myself enjoying

I like this book, because it shows the weakness and strength of trust and of humanity in a interesting and new way. But with all great things it come with a cost to the main character. It shows how powerful friendship and true commitment can be.

This book shows how much fun the author has with the world he repurposed and the MC he created. Alexander is deals with pirates and demons, learn new skills, make new friends in a seamless story where everything makes sense and the world unfolds before us one step at a time.Onto the third book now, matey!

Another Brilliant series by J.R. Matthews!.The first book in the Series Nova Roma: Brilliant Book, great characters & Worldbuilding, action, romance & drama. I also loved the LGBT representation, it was surly and not in your face but it was there, which is what I like it doesn’t need to be in your face to be included. The second book Venice: Was a little slower than the first book, a few times I had to skip a few pages as it wasn’t keeping my attention (when the MC first lands on Africa). Other than that the book is another brilliant installment to the series. Cannot wait for the next book!.
