Definitely worth the peace of mind
I do not have a peephole on my front door so this has given me so much comfort knowing I can now see who is on the other side of the door, especially at night. After having this a few months, I do plan on adding more of the Ring products to my backyard and side garage door.My favorites: I love that the door angle allows me to see into my yard and street some and not just what is right up close to my door. I also love that you are able to manage multiple devices from the same app AND different locations!Helpful hint: I have do not disturb/focus options turned on on my phone so I was worried about not getting any Ring notifications while sleeping. You are able to allow some apps to send notifications while that is turned on so by customizing that feature on your phone, you can really enjoy this without having to leave all phone sounds on overnight.Least favorites: Sometimes I get a notification that someone rang the doorbell and they leave very quickly, so I’m trying to load it while it’s actually already turning off. That seems to create a bit of a delay in the ability to load the picture. If you knew it was that situation, it would almost be easier to just open the live view vs open the person notification. There was also a couple days that I could not open the live view for some reason. I was a bit annoyed I was going to need to contact support for help, but then it self-resolved! So I can’t say my experience with support but I am glad it wasn’t needed.Monthly payment: The monthly payment is very small, to be able to relax knowing you can playback anything you need to or capture anything if needed!Install: The install was very easy and I did it myself. I’m relatively handy but not a “handyman” level at all! I was able to install it, drill a few concrete holes and use the wires from my existing doorbell. It took less than 30 minutes to install and that was me taking my time to make sure I really understand the full process. It would have been nice if there were extra screws/anchors to fit different needs but what it came with mostly sufficed. The only issue came into play when I was trying to reuse holes from my existing doorbell – I needed to get a bit creative with other anchors as these screws were much smaller.App: The app is very easy to use and has your view immediately upon opening it. Very easy to quickly see what’s taking place or access the menu to adjust settings. Pic is attached (with my location scratched out at the top)Night visibility: You are able to see with or without a porch light on, but the clarity is so much better with the light on of course. Even if it’s off, you can get a pretty good look at who is outside and catch it.I was able to watch a possum cross my front yard about 20 feet away from my door and outside of the lighted area! I attached pics of my daughter outside with and without the light on.Sensitivity: I have never missed a person (to my knowledge) coming to my door yet I have not had any false alarms either! You can adjust the sensitivity levels but it’s working perfect as is!

Durable
I have had this ring camera for a few years now. Seems to be very durable, it has never given me any issues even being in direct sunlight for most of the day. The camera quality is alright, not super clear when you zoom in but does the job of letting you know something is at your door. Iâve never had any issues that warrant customer support, but I imagine they would get you taken care of if you needed it.

For the price great product
Considering the price of this wired unit compared with other units which are 3 times the cost this is a great buy. Instructions are clear. Hardest part of setup was to find the breaker to cut power to the door bell. The unit works like a charm. The quality of picture is good and does the job well. Remember that you have pay monthly to keep videos online. Therefore this is only worth it if you have a ring security and pay the monthly subscription for monitoring and in that case camera clips are stored and can be accessed online.

Works great
I would have given this a 5 star Rating but there are a couple of minor issues.1. There was no hardware in the package. Not a show stopper but aggravating.2. This Ring is replacing an old Battery Ring that was a hassle to recharge often. I had a subscription (save the video..) and I wanted to make sure it was cancelled. I call Amazon Customer Service and I’m still not sure they will not try to charge me.The good news is that the Ring and Ring Chime were easy to set up and both work great.

Simple and works, can respond to people
I like that this item comes with a chime. You can respond to people. The camera quality and range of view is more than enough. The only thing I don’t like about it is it does not work with mechanical chimes. So you have to use the electronic one it comes with or not have a chime at all.

Great Doorbell Cameras I rated a 5 until I discovered they don’t support “motion alerts”!
This is a revision from 5 to1 to alert anyone else needing “motion alerts” these Ring Doorbells DO NOT have it!. If you don’t want motion alerts I would still rate them a 5.I guess this must be covered in the pre-sale documentation but I missed it.We were already using several Ring stick up cameras but these are our first doorbell cameras. Until after installing them I did not discover this model does NOT support motion alerts which is the MAIN reason we bought them. (The Ring appWe had just experienced an attempted break in (door frame damaged but they did not get it) and we “thought” these video doorbells would announce to a visitor (or intruder) they were being recorded which should be a tremendous deterrent.I have two “Pro” models on order which are required to do that. Again, these are great if you don’t want that feature.Installation and set-up was very easy but I have two suggestions to make it even easier:1. The instructions tell you to install the included jumper between “front” and “trans” terminals but never says whether the second doorbell camera is any different. It is NOT! Installing the one jumper will take care of both door bells.2. Look through all the little folded pieces of paper that comes with the video doorbell and you will find one that includes duplicate QR Codes for both the camera and chime (if you bought a chime). I missed that piece of paper but noted the instructions called for scanning the QR Code “after” installing the camera so I scanned it under power before finishing installation since the QR Code would not be accessible but the duplicate QR Codes eliminate that problem but they are not mentioned in the instructions.
