Easy setup.
This is for a furnished rental property.I need the features of setting up dedicated codes and locking the doors remotely. Excellent product and setup was extremely easy. No need to hire a locksmith; I used my previous holes on my lock. This is my second lock with this company. I recommend it. They are pricey. I also like the fact that the codes remain in the lock even if you loose wifi. There is also the backup key.I use KIWI masterlock system for my non furnished properties that dont need remote capabilities.

A wonderful lock Good luck but a couple of issues
At first the lock is beautiful and very easy to install. The app is easy and it just simply works. There is only one key which is a big disappointment because then you have to run out and buy a bunch of copies which this company could have made much easier on the installing process.Next issue is the lock has a lot of play in it and it goes from being super loose to a bit tight to turn and tested this many different ways It’s just how the lock is even when not installed. Finally the Wi-Fi on this is okay it has some range limitations which may during the battery but in this case it worked out

Expensive but worth it.
We needed to replace the deadbolt on one of our doors so we decided to upgrade to a Smart Deadbolt. Schlage has always been a reliable brand, so I decided to go with this model. It has worked flawlessly for us. I’ve had some experience with other brands and they are just frustrating to use; not the case with this model. I highly recommend.

Miserable installation hardware
I own several of these locks and the previous versions have worked well and been easy to install. For the one I just purchased, however, it seems like they redesigned the installation hardware… and not in a good way. There are two short skinny little bolts that are meant to attach the inside piece of the lock to the door plate. Schlage seems to have decided to make these bolts as skinny and short as possible. And the attachment receptacle that they’re supposed to thread into is equally skinny, of course, and you can’t see it when installing. To add to the fun, the bolts are just slightly too short to actually thread properly into the door plate. After thirty minutes of trying and failing to get these little things to attach, you’ll be left with the dilemma of deciding to 1) remove the almost-installed lock and put your old one back in; 2) try and call someone somewhere at customer support to try and explain this situation and get proper hardware which may arrive someday or not; or 3) go to Home Depot and try to purchase bolts that actually work…. none of these ideal for a lock that you just spent $300 on.

A Great Upgrade
Used Schlage locks for years. The ones with keypads have been a great addition to both our home and rental cabins. It’s great not having to carry keys around this property. Just upgraded to the Encode locks. The first one had a broken wire and is being returned, So far, installed two out of the next four without an issue. Recommend installing the batteries in the battery pack and connecting the two halves prior to install just to save yourself time down the road. Encode locks are tied to the Wi-Fi in each building, and allow me to assign codes or open/lock the doors remotely. That is a major asset when guests are locked out and we aren’t on site. In addition, these can be set up with AirBnB to assign codes automatically; that we’ll test next month. Another advantage – when replacing one set of Schlage for another, the bolt assembly does not have to be replaced. Easy to install, secure, and easy to configure. Been using Schlage keypad locks for 10 years now – we won’t be going back to keyed locks any time soon!

Easy to install smart lock
After all the difficulties I had with the Yale smart lock, which we could never get to work with the app, I hoped this one would be better. I had my contractor help with the installation, which was easy, and the instructions were straightforward. We had no issues, and it worked perfectly.

Works great, no complaints!
The 1st one I ordered (and had to return) was a dud… just did not work. Pro tip, put the batteries in and test that it works before uninstalling existing lock and installing new lock. Saves you some frustration in case it does not work out of the box!2nd one I ordered worked great and installed quickly since I had practice with the 1st one. It’s been about 2 months and the battery is still at 90%.I really enjoy having notifications on my phone and the ability to control and check on it remotely. I also have it set to auto lock if left unlocked. This lock replaced a 1st generation Schlage electronic lock and I am hoping it will last just as long if not longer.

Amazing convenience and capabilities. I recommend setting up your lock closer to your wifi router before install. One issue I had was the signal was breaking up initially and connection was lost in the middle of scanning the product qr code. This made the wifi flakey and I was getting a screwed up signal and couldnt save changes it would always fail. When I removed the lock from my phone schlage app and added it again (after a reset on the lock) I went through the scan and it completed. Once installed in the door about 35ft from the router I had no issues with signal, saving changes etc. via the schlage phone app. I had these problems because the scan of the product likely failed due to a wifi connection blip and that required me to reset the lock device, remove and add via schlage app. Doing this closer to the router guaranteed a sync. After that I had no issues with the lock. Lost about an hour and a half trying to troubleshoot.I didnât have this issue with my first lock install. This was my second on a second door. All in all I love this technology. I get notifications on my phone. I can unlock and lock remotely. Google home can be used with it. What a convenience and you can use a physical key.My second door required a full drill out for deadbolt and I had to drill and chisel the door and frame plate areas. I used wood putty and sanded to fill the prior holes and painted the entire door. The door is antique and had a non standard locking mechanism and hole placement. Love the technology on my 100 year old solid wood door 🙂

I run an Airbnb. Best lock I could ever ask for. Tracks everything, when it opens/closes, who is using the lock, battery life, putting time frames for lock codes to work…. Wouldn’t want a different lock for what I needed.

However, battery drains very fast… but apart fromthat it’s very good!

The deadbolt is great but the app to use it is difficult to set up and to be able to share/add codes. It took two days to figure it out but once we did, it has worked well.We didn’t install it – we had a new door installed and they put the lock and handle on the door for us. We haven’t used it long enough yet to be able to comment on the battery life – door was installed a week ago.
