Escaping from an angry drone graveyard with the help and sacrifice of one of her own kind, Alex finds herself in a fringe system populated by mankind, a species that would fear and hate her if they knew the truth.
Still, she cant wait to see the new sights and make more friends! She just has to be a little subtle about it… And maybe trade in some anti-matter nuclear warheads.
But faking it until you make it can lead to unforeseen consequences, and when those involve dropping megatons of munitions on a perhaps misunderstood alien species, the stakes can be raised even higher.
When placed as the only thing between a people about to be annihilated, can Alex turn away? Her choice might leave her with consequences she never dared imagine.
War is good for Business. Business depends on Diplomacy. Diplomacy warrants… Cakes and Kebabs?

6 bloody AM It’s been a long time since I got sucked in like that
I should have known better. You do not start an anticipated book after midnight when I got home. Just a little reading before bed I told myself and then just till the end of this fight. Thus was a mistake because I finished the book before I came out of the reading trance. The next day was hard. I am not sure I can explain exactly why the book hooked me in. There are some strong character development with some fantastic setting that seem reasonable. Nanites are “magic” but if you give the world you willing suspension of disbelief the world is fascinating. The action sequences are even better than the first book. The unknown is revealed by discovery along with our lead and is wonderfully consistent. The primary character is both powerful and vulnerable and occasionally zany in a charming way. It reminds me of some of my favorite anime but is totally unique. This is fun space opera and I recommend this book.Blessings Rev Michael Burgess

The series continues and just gets even better!
I continue to be blown away at how good this series is. Dialog flows well, the plot is intuitive while also being unpredictable. One of the best scifi series in the last decade.

great story, loved the progression
Really like this sci-fi space opera style and loved the characters. Wish the main girls had a romantic relationship since it felt like it was hinted in the first book but still good. Felt really choppy at places but didnât stop me from enjoying ðð¾

Addicting, and compelling
I originally started this series as a mistake. I was really into cultivation fantasies like xanxia, and wuxia ala Defiance of the Fall. In those fantasies having ‘Core’ is sort of the way you ‘level up’. So I thought this was going to be a scifi version of that. While it is not cultivation, and not very litRPG. I was still hooked so early on that I am now quite addicted to the series. The author does an amazing job to make the MC relatable, and the circumstances understandable. I want to know more and more about Alex, I want to see the many plot seeds flourish and find out more about the other NAI, maybe even this missing princess. I want to see this wonderful mix of struggle, and learning and at the same time, an epic feeling of ease in other scenarios highlighting the wonders of the MC origins, and skills. Its a hard balance to write, and I think it is done wonderfully here. My original expectations of a relationship between Alex and her companion didn’t seem to come to pass as they chose to be family instead, but even that made sense for now, and wasn’t a disappointment. Please keep up the good work, and I eagerly await every new release.

well tempered clavicord
Excellent plotting, well twined subplots, good character development, pretty good dialogue – still too much introspective narration, technology is both intriguing and subject to some physical limits (when technology becomes simple wish fulfillment it might as well be sorcery) – this opus hits all the right notes.
Iâve been following this book for a long time. It is a good story in an interesting setting. One of my favorites. –
Great follow up!
Follows the trajectory of the first and expands the world. Good read
Brian Lee Gnad (The Bubba Man) –
It’s a really excellent story!
All right, I’d been waiting on this since I finished the first book, and I was not disappointed. This story goes to new and unexpected places, and while I hate cliffhangers, I am seriously looking forward to the next installment.
RWB –
I really like the MC and am enjoying the world building. The mixture of AI and humans/aliens is interesting. The story romps along with plenty of challenges. The ending of this book is dramatic. I look forward to seeing how the MC can rebuild and prosper. It looks to be hanging in the balance. Highly recommend this series! More soon please…..

Loving the action of one ship against a litany of powers that are corrupt and use human lives as fodder. Loving the action.
