Hard to beat for price.
Thereâs 1 downside to WiFi cameras. Your internet speed has to include enough upload gbps per camera for optimal results. Example 10 gbps is enough for 3-4 cameras unless youâre uploading something at the same time. Yes you can run 8-10 cameras but youâll see delays, buffering and be disappointed in speeds. Proper upload speeds is vital so you can run your cameras and other uploading data (basically sending, example : to cloud, to another devices to private storage). If you use cameras for live viewing and no saving video upload speeds arenât important. That said, these Tapo ptz cameras work good, they move properly, app is intuitive, storage is cheap $10 for 10 cameras for 30 days, theyâre a TP-Link products so itâs amazing like everything they make. I see TP-link to electronics as I do 3m to adhesives. Simply works. These cameras are 2k so zooming is ok but they donât actually zoom itâs an in picture zoom. The cord is 2 piece so you can put attached side through a wall and connect adapter side in a plug inside but not have to make a huge hole. 3/8â hole is all you need. Entire unit is compact and has 4 holes in mounting plate to easily with a template to mark for plastic anchors or pre-drill hard surfaces.TP-link start up is by far the easiest Iâve seen and Iâm a fan.1 caveat I have is, when volume is on thereâs no was to avoid hearing the motor turn the camera. These are NOT for high security areas or places subject to damage, mounting plate and body are plastic but you should know that when purchasing anyway. I would not hesitate at all to buy TP-link cameras or recommend to them to my own family and friends.

Top performer
I am impressed with this camera. It was easy to mount, easy to setup, very good resolution, super night vision, sensitive motion detection, ultra low price, and Compatibly with Alexa. The iOS app works as good as any Iâve seen, pan and tilt could be smother but for the price I can deal with it. I highly recommend this camera. Wish I had bought more.

Affordable, Many Features!
I’ve been looking at getting smart security cameras for a while but couldn’t get myself to invest since many were very expensive. I happened to come across this brand upon looking into getting a TP Link wifi extender. Once I saw the price, I jumped on it right away. We started out with one and placed it on the corner of our separate garage. It works really well!It has a very good range, we mainly point it to get a full view of our house, but with the same camera we can pan it towards the front of our garage. You can save viewpoints so you can have different camera views with one click. From one camera we can get a view of our garage door, garage side entrance, front yard, and front of our house. We decided to buy 2 more to cover the other sides of our house. You can also have it patrol on it’s own, which makes the camera pan side to side or up and down. It will detect motion, you can choose how sensitive you would like it to be. You can have it also track moving objects, but if it moves too fast outside it’s viewpoint it isn’t able to follow it completely. It won’t catch any movement outside it’s viewpoint of course, which makes sense. There is “home” or “away” settings, you can turn on privacy mode if you don’t want it recording. To actually have the camera record you will need a microSD card, or you can use their Tapo Care. It’s very affordable compared to others and it’s unlimited cloud storage. They offer free Tapo Care for a full month, no charge without requiring card information.

Easy to Install, Great Quality, Needs to be kept close to Internet box
This is great, we upgraded from another camera and so far the quality has been great with this camera. It catches everything with motion detection, even the rain during a storm. Bought on sale, for the price the camera is perfect considering it’s features such as setting specific locations that you may want to look at with the press of a button. It also has a patrol mode which follows movement it sees. At night the quality of the picture is just as good as during the day, nearly making out facial features from across the street. Our only gripe is that it sometimes has a hard time connecting to the Internet after an outage and doesn’t like connecting to Internet extension box, has to be manually connected instead of automatically. There’s almost no delay in checking the camera using Cellular Data if you are away from the house. There’s also a privacy mode if you are planning a surprise that you don’t want anyone else with access to see. If your on the fence about upgrading or buying one of these in general it’s my opinion that this is a decent investment for the price. There are more expensive cameras that do way less with worse quality. We have the white camera, not sure if it comes in any other color honestly.

The camera and app are great so far.
Just had professional electricians install my cameras (3) and I purchased the flood light camera for the back yard. This camera has electric outlet and my electricians installed ethernet wire. I originally thought they were hardwired. You also need a SD micro disk for each camera. Set up was easy with app. You have to create a linked account, initialize each disk and update firmware. The camera was ready for use. The camera is clear and in color. The night vision is so clear and in color. It works with Alexa and now I feel like detective gadget! I love it!

Seems durable, worked in all weather so far
Had it for about 5 weeks. Was fairly easy to install though you really do need two people. I taped it up temporarily so I could drill it into the soffit myself. Has survived through a couple of heavy rainstorms. I bought it to cover my driveway and front yard while I’m away. The camera and the software have done a good job notifying me of activity while I’m away in another state for days at a time.[Updated after 5 weeks] One confusing thing that has happened is that at first the software would identify cars and people with blue boxes labeled around them. This has stopped happening. The notifications do say what kind of motion it thinks it sees, but there is no blue box or label in the replay. I’ve rebooted the camera and changed the sensitivity settings up and down to test and they have not come back. Haven’t found anything online about this. Edit: the setting is Tags On. If this is switched off then the tags don’t appear.

I have purchased several outdoor security cameras over the years and struggled with all of them. All were either poorly engineered (camera is in the way of the mounting screws) making them difficult to mount and/or impossible to get them connected to my home wifi. All that changed when I bought a Tapo C500. It was by far the easiest installation and the most user-friendly app I have ever used. It walks you step by step through the wifi setup which takes less than 2 minutes (even if you know nothing about wifi). One C500 has been in service for about one year with no issues. My newest unit has been in service for about a month and it too is operating perfectly. You can set up a home/default camera position but if an intruder enters anywhere within the camera’s field of view, it will track their movements, keeping them centered in the field of view for as long as possible. This makes identification of intruders much easier. Great camera. Great app.
