The book gives a lot of information about using Powershell and is useful in explaining how to use it. It isn’t a ‘cookbook’ that tells you what command to run to get the information. But a good understanding of how PS works should allow the user to craft their own commands to get as much or little information as they want.

It’s not a value.serName= nameOfAServiceWould it kill them to just call it serviceName?Beyond annoying things like that, they use huge blocks of code to make simple points… Combine that with kindle typesetting issues and it’s really hard to look at and learn from.It’s clear they didnt out much effort into the book and that doesn’t code well for a book about scripting with one of the most awkward and painful scripting languages from Microsoft yet.
