Superior to the old keypad.
Installation was a breeze. The setup process within the app was also simple with one exception. I have three people that will be using this and on registering the fingerprints, we noticed that one user’s fingerprint registered with no issues and unlocked the door with no issues. Myself and the other user could not get the lock to unlock with the fingerprint. When re-enrolling, we pressed more firmly with the center of the finger and it registered both of us without a problem.The takeaway is that if you treat this like Apple’s TouchID you’re going to have a bad time. It’s a firm press and hold and the lock unlocks every time. All 3 of us are able to use the fingerprint with almost 100% success…which is way better than using a key. I read a lot of the reviews and saw that people were having issues so I figured I’d mention the firm press requirement. Also, I was prompted with a firmware update when adding the lock so that may have something to do with it. For the price this is a great investment, especially considering that I didn’t have to replace or install a new lock. We had the old keypad and it was awful….we put that one on the back porch for emergencies.

Not really work every time
We want to add a keypad touch to address the slow response of the auto-unlock feature of the August Smart Lock Wi-Fi. However, it seems that it does not meet expectations.The keypad touch is used for the following conditions: pairing with August Smart Lock Wi-Fi when a Wi-Fi bridge is connected all the time.1. Slow response when using the keypad or fingerprint. It is unclear whether the delay is due to the keypad or fingerprint recognition.2. The system can only store one fingerprint for each user, which doesn’t make sense when there is a need to both left and right hands.3. One-click lock responses are slow and sometimes do not work at all.Not a mature I need to return it and wait for another firmware or product update.

Works perfectly, easy to install.
This is super simple to install. I have used the older keypad for several years. It worked fine. This is so much simpler and quicker to open the August door lock, wish I had installed it years earlier. Oh wait! It was first available May 15, 2024. Nevermind. I’m very happy with it ð

I hate this thing. I love this thing
Letâs get the bad out of the way first. I replaced an August lock and keypad with this new keypad and a new Yale Approach lock. The lock install went fine as did the keypad installâ¦. initially. I mounted the keypad and then started to configure it. I was able to add a PIN into the keypad and then tried to add a fingerprint. This is where things went south. The procedure is essentially, place a finger on the reader, wait for some blue lights and repeat until complete. I started the process and right away white lights, not blue, started flashing. Every time I placed my finger on the reader the same thing happened. After several more attempts, resetting the keypad (removing batteries), force closing the app and rebooting my phone, still no go. Then, it got worse. The August app kept saying it couldnât connect to the keypad via Bluetooth.I called tech support and got disconnected. I called again. They had me try all the things I had already tried, but eventually it just started working and I was able to add my fingerprint to the keypad.Now for the good. Now that itâs configured, it works very well. When Iâm leaving the house, I can just push the fingerprint reader and the door auto locks. When I return, I can just hold be registered finger onto the reader, and like magic the door unlocks (see attached video). So far itâs batting 1000 on reading my fingerprint correctly.I also really like the look of the keypad.An interesting side note: You can use either the August or Yale apps to configure and/or use the keypad. The 2 companies are related. I have other August locks so stuck with the August app.

Fingerprint sensor is almost useless
The device is attractive and the keypad works well. The fingerprint sensor is almost uselessâit only recognizes the fingerprint at best 2 out of every five tries. Donât waste your money on this until they fix/upgrade the fingerprint sensor.

Nicest Lock I’ve found
I’ve had a yale/august lock for a while now and it has been a constant struggle. From our previous keypad dying weekly to the auto-unlock feature meant to react whenever the phone came close not working, my mom and I were constantly frustrated. Finally, I decided to get this little addition, and it’s like all our problems disappeared. Despite, some issues my first attempt at using the keypad, it has been so lovely to use. The keypad is much better than our last one, and the fingerprint works well too. However, we have not been able to add a second fingerprint. Only my mom has the app, which according to the internet should be able to add multiple fingerprints, but so far is only allowing us one. Regardless, I has been absolutely lovely.

I like a lot ⦠the finger prints work exactly. Only one note: when you will tey to configure the fingerprint you will need to do a little faster when they read your fingerprint (12 times)

Not worth it – many issues
I tried this keypad with the August lock with WiFi built into the lock. This keypad is slow – sometimes I have to press the Yale button twice in order for the door to lock. Secondly, I was in the app trying to turn off the sound part on the keypad and kept getting a connection error when I would toggle the sound to the off position. Lastly, the tab that opens the battery door is cheap plastic that broke off already. For $70 bucks itâs not worth it.

No funciona en México con August Wifi Lock ya que August no deja agregar dispositivos nuevos en la App de August fuera de USA y Canadá.Sólo sirve con cerraduras Yale en México.La información desplegada en el anuncio no dice nada de que no podrás configurar esto en la App de August en México.
