Collect and analyze sensor and usage data from Internet of Things applications with Microsoft Azure IoT Suite. Internet connectivity to everyday devices such as light bulbs, thermostats, and even voice-command devices such as Google Home and Amazon.com’s Alexa is exploding. These connected devices and their respective applications generate large amounts of data that can be mined to enhance user-friendliness and make predictions about what a user might be likely to do next. Microsoft’s Azure IoT Suite is a cloud-based platform that is ideal for collecting data from connected devices. You’ll learn in this book about data acquisition and analysis, including real-time analysis. Real-world examples are provided to teach you to detect anomalous patterns in your data that might lead to business advantage.
We live in a time when the amount of data being generated and stored is growing at an exponential rate. Understanding and getting real-time insight into these data is critical to business. IoT Solutions in Microsoft’s Azure IoT Suite walks you through a complete, end-to-end journey of how to collect and store data from Internet-connected devices. You’ll learn to analyze the data and to apply your results to solving real-world problems. Your customers will benefit from the increasingly capable and reliable applications that you’ll be able to deploy to them. You and your business will benefit from the gains in insight and knowledge that can be applied to delight your customers and increase the value from their business.

Infomative
Good book that helps with the basic implementation of microsoft Azure Iot. However, I do not suggest Azure after working through the product.

A good introduction to Microsoft’s Azure IoT Suite
The Internet of Things (IoT) is expanding every day with newly connected devices continually coming on line. Processes that benefit from having mini-computers attached to them are being discovered all the time as more data is being generated. Storing, analyzing, and reporting on this data is what Microsoftâs cloud-based system (the Microsoft Azure IoT Suite) has been constructed to do.In IoT Solutions in Microsoft’s Azure IoT Suite, author Scott Klein documents the rise of IoT, how to work with several existing sensors we can use to generate telemetry data, and then spends the rest of the book showing the reader how to get usage data into the cloud. With Azure IoT Hub as a messenger between IoT devices and IoT solutions, Klein builds a complete end-to-end pipeline to ingest, analyse, store, and present data. For each step of the sample project, Klein presents background on an Azure resource and the reasoning behind why using it is ideal for an IoT solution. This is followed by a detailed chapter on how to use the Azure tool in your own application. Along with the IoT Hub, Klein shows us Azure Stream Analytics to process and transform the collected data, Azure Data Factory to move the data into an Azure Data Lake, and PowerBI for reporting on the aggregated results. There are also chapters on Azure Machine Learning and Azure HDInsight, Microsoftâs big data solution in the cloud.I enjoyed this book and it gave me insight into how Azure can become a full solution for an IoT project. One drawback of the book though is the screenshots that accompany the text. Photos of devices and many of the screenshots appear dark. They also seem poorly cropped so that one has to look to find what the author is referring to. Callouts within the photos might have helped. As well, some screenshots of the Azure Portal use the Dark Theme and they are harder to view when compared to the ones that use the Light Theme. This first book on Azure IoT Suite is a great resource and one of many that are sure to appear over the next while as the field of IoT and Azure grow. I know I will refer to it as a resource for my Azure IoT work and as a refresher on the other Azure resources Klein highlights in the book.
